It seems like I got really lucky with my ML.

TLDR: I was offered a K25 and a ML both in black and ghw but took the ML because I didn’t need to spend anything else to take it home.

I went into Hermes with the intent of buying a belt, something small to remember my trip by from one of three countries I was traveling to.
My husband started asking the SA about how difficult it would be to get a K25 and the SA just straight up asked me what color and hardware I was looking for. I asked for neutrals with ghw, he said they had a black with ghw, but I would have to spend 1:1. This was immediately after paying for 2 huge weddings so I regretfully declined😭
I never imagined being able to choose the color, leather, and hardware on a QB at a boutique I have never been to before (I was not at the Paris location either)

I was checking out for the belt and asked about the ML. I haven’t seen one in person and was curious about the size. The SA again, asked me what colors I was looking for, then he said follow me. He took me to their back room, pulled out the bag, and said I can take it without spending anything else.
I was shocked because of the stories I’ve heard about how difficult it is to get a ML, even more difficult than a QB now! Of course I took the offer! It was a great start to our honeymoon.

I’ve been eyeing the ML for a while as my first Hermes bag purchase but from the resale market, never would I imagine getting offered one at a boutique. She fits the perfect amount of stuff and is soooo light to carry! I’m in awe of my experience and of this bag.

This was in South Korea. Idk if it’s worth mentioning, but I’ve only purchased 2 pairs of Orans online and $300 worth of lip products as gifts prior to this as well. So I’m basically a very new client.

For those who are based in US, would you say it’s hard to get ML in neutral colors in boutiques nowadays? How is the pre-spending situation?

There are some Black Friday sales going on on secondhand store websites, and so far the price for ML in gold is about 1.8 times to twice of the retail price, and non-neutrals (red, orange, blue, etc) or non-clemence can be about 1.5k-3k above retail.

I’m still debating if I should just abandon the idea of buying from those sources and bite the bullet by choosing to visit local boutique. It’s 2 hours drive round trip, but with the pre-spending at least I get to choose what I really want? But, how do you know if your SA can really give you what you want (color and leather) especially for a non-quota bag like ML?

I hope I can be of some help. I do believe getting a mini Lindy is challenging in the boutique regardless of spend. I did finally receive one, but it took a lot of time and money. You might be better off going resale and try to find one at retail. Just a thought.

Thank you for sharing the experience! I guess that's why resale prices have gone up to 14k for ML in popular colors/leathers/ hardware That makes 9k-11k relatively reasonable because it's difficult to obtain one even in boutiques...

Hi tall friend! I’ve had the same questions and wasn’t able find much online myself. Recently was lucky enough to receive a mini Lindy so here are 2 mod shots. I don’t have a crossbody pic but can take one.

For reference I’m 6’ size 12 (but currently verrry pregnant). It is a tiny bag and looks so but it’s functional and not as out of proportion as say a mini Kelly would be.

It’s probably easier if you have a long standing relationship with your SA. She offered me a ML while I was waiting for a B25. Here it is, my ML in Nata ostrich with GHW.

God I didn't know ML went for crazy high prices on the resale market. I mean I knew they were popular but really?! When I asked my SA they said that I was "on the list" but who knows what that actually means with respect to a ML offer anytime soon haha.
