This is SOOOOOOOOO perfect on you!!
It’s always a treat to see your beautiful smile!
BBC,
Thank you!!! I fell in love with your light blue/pink version when I tried it on in the store, but the colors were very close to my Pani Shar La Pawnee that I bought several years ago. You look magnificent in yours! This Fall/Winter season is crazy good! I bought two others and still have two more on my list.

Those of you who have both Cosmographia and Animapolis - do you feel they are different enough to justify the purchase? I admire my animapolis but haven't worn it often enough to convince myself that I need to add the cosmographia this season.
I’m also very biased - I love Jan’s art, I bought 3 cw of Animapolis (1, 8, 11) and already one of Cosmographia. I’m drawn to bright colors, and intricate but graphic patterns often. Animapolis 8 in the more muted cream and blue looks like a different scarf, and reads as pretty neutral. I wear lots of solid color clothes so I enjoy the patterns and life. And 90s are my favorite.

I justify them all because I love the color variation and ways to tie, the fact that Animapolis was based on one of his dreams (love that about so many artists and how their dream lives figure in) and features his rescue puppy Kluska. I hang different scarves on my scarf hanging system as I rotate a different scarf through that every week or two to see the full scarf and enjoy that way.

I’ve had more compliments on Jan’s scarves than any others in my collection. I have some more traditional patterns and neutrals, like petit duc tyger tyger Dallet etc. (As an animal lover I’m often drawn to animals on scarves too!) I really love all my scarves, except for a few that I’m more meh about as I bought early and they weren’t as “me”. Now I don’t buy a single piece unless I absolutely love it. I don’t typically go for the very traditional patterns that H seems to release over and over, though I appreciate them as works of art and history nonetheless and know those scarves sing to many here. I also run warm, so no cashmere for me (and thank goodness for that - my wallet is happier!)

Didn’t mean to write a book! Guess my point is I think those two scarves are quite different even though you can clearly tell they are the work of the same artist. So cosmographia seems different enough for me.

Bottom line though is if YOU don’t love it or wear your Animapolis as much, maybe it’s not for you. There’s plenty more on the way!!! I still love how we can all find our unique style and “voice” as we build our collections. And I love seeing every single scarf and photograph and modeling pics you lovely tpfrs share. You all rock your own styles. Thank you!

@kleider Sadly, I was too lazy to take off my tee shirt (black/grey tie dye) which clashed with the colors in Cosmographia, so I threw on a solid black cardigan, backwards, over that tee shirt, and then tied the scarf over that. Oh, the things we do for a better picture, especially when we are in a hurry. When the colors are so different in vibe, and even the subject matter is different (with wonderful wavey swirls of water and dunes of sand vs. a city overrun by strange animals), I do not feel that there is any duplication. I want to purchase Cosmographia in another color way, too. I just love it!
I think I am falling for it in a big way! Your Cosmographia is wonderful!

I really enjoy reading your post! My animapolis is also in cw 08. I do like it very much, and adore it as a piece of art. But I have to admit that I'm not very creative when wearing it in person. At least not as creative as I'm with some of my other scarves.

My most worn scarves are the Ndop and the Jeu des Omnibus Remix. I like playing with geometric patterns and lines.

Yes! haha, I had a feeling you were a tPFer!! It was so nice talking with you and your friend. :flowers:
What a small world. It was lovely to meet you. (Even though I didn't know it was you at the time!)

I got the blue/green Jungle Love and the denim/pink Kachinas (neither of which are new to the thread): MVIMG_20190623_194942.jpg I really like how the white lines are not mathematically precise, but the colored stripes look and feel hand-drawn.

The Kachinas colorway is very similar to the pink and blue Samourai. (Pics for comparison):
IMG_20190623_193845.jpg It was (unusually for me) not a strategic purchase. As soon as I saw it, I was "yes please. That's mine now. Thank you very much." I think it was partially because it reminds me of my favorite scarf. But I also love the print and it's sufficiently different from my other Kachina. You might not even think they're the same scarf! How wonderful to see your beautiful smile here again, Ladybaga. This scarf and color is fabulous, especially paired with your jewelry. Great choice!
Thank you, Maedi!
It was fun to try on so many Kachinas. The one I chose was a colorway that I don’t have in my collection. It will be fun to shop my closet to see what other shirts will complement this scarf.
Hope you are doing well! Are there any scarves on your radar for the upcoming season?

Thanks so much kleider. I like the scarves you mention - geometric patterns and lines are so much fun to style! I only started collecting in 2013, and learned a few lessons by buying something that didn’t just leap out at me. They stay in the drawer for the most part. I don’t know how tall you are, but with a few scarves during the summer I tie the top two corners together just slightly, put over my head, style with a long pendant and go. Animapolis is gorgeous like this as is Cosmographia. They hang long, you see more of the scarf, and there is almost no silk on your neck on these hot days! That is a must for me when the temp gets over 70. :P

IMO it's very helpful to see the same scarves/cws modelled on different people and in various ways. Nobody should feel their latest AW19 scarves are not of interest. It's especially helpful for us (Europeans) as most have not seen a single AW19 scarf yet IRL, every new picture gives us an alternative view and more info.

Congratulation on your new acquisition, Ladybaga! The CW is so soft, I'm your twin in twill. Perfect with your turquoise jewelry!
