Hey everyone, I have a question about heat stamping. My aunt is in the UK so she helped me order kirigami sets for my bestie and I (way cheaper there after the price increase!!). We want to get our initials hot stamped once we have them but we are also planning to take a trip to Hawaii together and we love the Hawaii stamp. I've only seen it on luggage tags so I was wondering if it's possible to get it on the kirigami too, as well as initials. TIA for any info!

As long as your kirigami is made of leather or have leather parts, then they should be able to stamp it. They cannot stamp canvas part as it'll melt.

I would be surprised if any store would be okay with putting a hotstamp of any kind, but especially something larger like the Hawaiian flower (as opposed to initials). That material is very thin so a lot easier to have problems while stamping. LV would not want to have to replace something that would be more prone to issues occurring during the stamping process (higher chances of it happening to kirigami as opposed to a wallet or luggage tag for example).

Just fyi as an example. I had my catogram Kirigami stamped. But obviously it depends on sa if they want to stamp it for you or not.

Omg that is so adorable!!! Thanks so much for the info! I saw stamping as an option when ordering so I'm hoping the SA will be willing to do it but won't be heartbroken if not.

Ah that makes sense. I'd be happy with even just initials but fine if not too. Thanks for the info :)

May have to just try to get ahold of a pair of luggage tags so we can get those stamped in Hawaii instead :D

The safest and best is always the hardware colour. Silver or gold, depending on the model. I know that they offer a wide range of colour, but besides the metallics, very few of them matches up nicely with the leather colours. Any blues or greens would suffer on this teal. White and yellow would have enough contrast, but they would look ugly overall. So silver, all the way. Especially that metallic foils last longer, so you won't have problem with chipping.
The best would be a 3D like embossing as the one on the bag body, but Vuitton cannot do such a thing. Maybe a spray paint artist.

View attachment 1503377I got my new Mono oval 4-key holder hotstamped. They did a great job! I also added a picture next to a regular 4-kay holder so people could see the size if they haven't seen the oval one. I really like it. The little keyholders swivel, and it is so comfy in your hand. A little more feminine I think that the traditional one.
Here in 2022 and i LOVE that key holder...wish they still made that!

I got my first heat stamp yesterday at the Rome Fiumicino airport store, this is their special stamp.
Wait, how long did they take? Was it done right then and there? For most of my hot stamps, they ask me to leave it and come back the next day. The shortest time was leaving and coming back 3 hrs later lol I suppose for the airport terminal, they would have to do it right away. Great Stamp, love the plane :)

They did it right away and it took 10 minutes! I had to catch a plane (obviously ) so I could not have waited longer.

I have since visited the New York 5th Avenue store to get an another heat stamp (the new york apple one) and that took 3 hours to do. My vachetta tag had patina so they refused to add color, but the plain stamp is nice too.
