Are you a Gucci addict? Do you buy because there is a sale? Or does it not matter to you?

I myself was very disappointed I did not get a special preview to the sale. I look forward to the Spring and Fall sales. I just felt insulted and betrayed. I don't know why? Well in any event, I should've put my big girl pants on, so to speak, and just took it with a grain of salt. But I didn't. I found myself chasing Gucci sales.
I wound up purchasing, although all on sale, 4 Gucci handbags (from Saks, NM & the outlet).

I just needed to get in on a Gucci sale lol. If I had gotten invited, I probably wouldn't have purchased what I did. I guess I have a "problem" lol.

What about you? :)

I guess the not being invited did me some good. But I must admit I'm envious u purchased 4! Ha!! Lol.

Seriously the chasing of the sales in my past has been a problem. Just yesterday I looked at a pair of shoes purchased last year on sale. I may have worn them once. I thought shall I get rid of? But no! They are so gorgeous and I got on sale!

I am definitely a sale chaser. Did not get the invite and did everything i could to try to get in. Right now i am in LOVE with the Dionysus Matalesse Top Handle, but at $2600+tax I can't bring myself to pull the trigger, and none of the department stores have it, just Gucci.com. So i look every day to see if the department stores got it in, so i can use GlamourRewards rebate plus get no tax. But alas, no luck yet.

I think sales definitely make you purchase things you may not ordinarily. I am being bombarded with sale emails.
I can't help but click! Case in point: the Saks designer sale... now as far as Gucci goes the Disco only was on my radar.
Saks sale click - 1st email for private sale... bought a wallet I surely don't need & was going to return on receipt but when it arrived it was set up to be so user friendly and was so nice I kept it... I've been using it every day since lol.
Then the disco was in the open designer sale for a minute & I was lucky to get it!
Then I got another email about an extension of the Saks Gucci sale & bought the cute key/card holder. Now, I had been
looking at the LV 4 & 6 key holders but couldn't pull the trigger or decide... Gucci sale? Immediate purchase...
I also bought some other things from other brands, only one of which I was actually shopping around for prior to any sales.
Must. Stay. Out. Of. Sales. !!! I'm really done me shopping now.

I admit to being a Gucci addict but my addition manifests itself differently. I was invited to the sale but couldn't find anything, not even for presents. However, if I like a Gucci piece I will go to the ends of the Earth to get it, I just paid almost DOUBLE for a hat in a colour I couldn't get in Europe. Someone had to carry it from the other side of the world for me, I guess that's the opposite of a sale problem.

I have lots of bags but I use most. I have doubles and triplets of ones I use a lot and the others are very varied, statement, travel, mini, work, weekend, evening, carefree coated-canvas, vintage bags. My shoe collection is similar, lots of loafers and then some unique 'crazies' and a couple of dressy high heels.

I think I'm just as careful buying in the sales, maybe more so, the only thing I look at are things I've already had my eye on and thought they were overpriced.

I am so glad you were able to control yourself and not chase the sales.
That's one problem I need to seriously evaluate.

Aww. I really wish you luck in getting what you are looking for. I know sometimes we need to reward ourselves. :). I really hope it goes on sale somewhere. At least you are able to control your needs and wait for that special bag. :)

Oh my, I resemble that. I should put all emails into my trash folder without looking but it's the temptation. I see you got a lot of nice stuff and it's great it was on sale. I'm in the same boat. I probably didn't need what I bought but I just needed to catch that Gucvi sale lol. :)

OMG, we're all in the same boat. I ended up with 1 Prada and 4 Gucci bags (from Saks and Neiman sale). Time to decide which Gucci bags i should keep now
This is too funny but not funny lol. I wound up with 1 Burberry bag and 4 Gucci bags lol. (2 bags I haven't received yet; but I'm certain I won't want to return them lol.)
Good luck in your decision. :)
We definitely need a club to resist temptation lol.

You are my idol. I wish I had the control you have. I've been buying just to buy. I definitely need to be aware of purchases and sales cuz the addiction is terrible. I need to follow the steps you placed on another thread;; but not only follow, but resist temptation. Temptation is the root of all evil and my pocketbook lol.

I just can't seem to help myself. Thank goodness I stopped looking at NM/Saks because I probably would've bought something else.

I gotta admit I felt slighted after not being invited to the sale. I spent a LOT of money on Gucci in 2015 & 2016.

I ended up buying a belt from Saks. I should be happy at that since I'd just gotten 2 Chloe bags the week before.

I still have a few wants. IMO, no one does RED like Gucci. So I still want a red Gucci handbag.
My goal is to not buy ANYTHING for first 6 months of 2016 but I also have a trip to Europe planned that may interfere with that.

Same here. But not getting invited made me want more. That's great control you have with the first six months. I need to put my phone down lol. I'm sure your Chloe bags are beautiful and wish you much luck in your temptation for your trip to Europe.

Well I feel for you SST, there seems no rhyme or reason for who was invited. You prob do this anyway but it usually helps to buy all from just one SA as SAs have their own lists for people they make the decision to call/email. Congratulations on your new Chloes, I still have mine from 8-6 years ago and they're not going anywhere without me

Totally agree with you on Gucci's red, I love my red Betty shoes

I'm usually good about shopping for myself & am much like this except for the doubles/triples of bags. I don't know what's up with me lately! But I've started just deleting all emails unless it's somewhere I know will have something for someone else. I'm worse if it's something I know someone special wants - I'll always find a way to get it for them. Thank goodness no one I know wants a "hatchimal" for Christmas!!

We're all shopping addicts; why else are we posting here? ;)

A good sale does make me spend more than I would've otherwise. I read a study that sales elicit the same neuron response as drugs and sex! No wonder we become such shopaholics when it comes to sales.

The only thing stopping me from buying a luxury item too frequently (once or twice a year is max for me) is that even after discounts, it's still easily several hundred dollars out of pocket. I'm not so sure if I can stomach that for multiple items. Even one item makes me feel a twinge of guilt for purchasing it. Case in point, I bought a sale Gucci bag this summer and still feel that I spent too much on it (spent less than a thousand, but still a lot!).
