The French Company bags

Does anyone know if LV bags made by The French Company used leather that started out already somewhat dark (at least darker than the currently-used vachetta)? Since I've only seen vintage FC bags with much darker leather, I'm just curious if the leather used on FC bags was a similar natural, untreated leather -- or if they started out new with a tanned/dyed polished leather.

if i'm not wrong...the french company bags were made of coated leather.

Yes my FC Speedy has Carmel colored finished leather.

^Mine too. I actually wish LV always used that leather. It's not nearly as high maintenance as the natural vachetta leather.

A few bags have tobacco leather rather than vachetta - older papillons and Fersens for example. I'd prefer coated or darker leather when possible.

Can anyone post a photo of the FC's Speedy with tan handles?

I know this thread is napping but my FC Speedy 30 is definitely not with the treated honey colored leather handles - it got way too dark from use for that, but from what we know, my Nana bought it pretty much right after FC started making them so I'm thinking that the early editions did in fact have some leather that darkened.
