I saw that in the boutique and it looked liked it was a navy even tho the tag color was petrole. In the pic you have presented from H.com the darn thing looks like a deep teal. I'm not altogether sure what color petrole is really supposed to be.

I happen to be wearing Paradis de Soie today, of which the dark color is petrol. Here's what the H.com site says is petrol in twill, where it looks pretty green: http://all-en.hermes.com/la-maison-...00-soie-paradis-de-soie-petrole-ca-90645.html

Here's what it looks like in mousseline, where it looks pretty navy: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...u-wearing-today.958067/page-354#post-31368085

That... leaves us less informed than before, sorry! :flowers:

In my experience petrol is a blue with a hint of green like your paradis de soie. I have several scarves in petrol to go with my Colvert Kelly.

For some reason I am enthralled with the brilliant colors of the Flowers of South Africa. It is hard from my DH to understand my love of Hermes - but I have a visceral response to them like fine paintings.

Agreed lynn! They are definitely fine works of art. I find my scarf purchases of late have been less about just generally "liking" the design, but more that they remind of past travels or experiences. Looking forward to mod shots of Flowers of SA

Fleurs de Fuschia was issued maybe 10 or more years ago and it came in petrole. I finally acquired it this year from a reseller, believing it would look like a dark blue teal as I seem to recall when I initially tried it on years ago. At the time SA spontaneously noted it was a good look.
When I got it this spring, it did not resemble a teal but a slightly grayed dark blue. It matched the Eileen Fisher color called Fir which was available at the time I acquired the scarf. Fir was sort of a blue spruce color without any touch of green. I got a Fir top. But the scarf looks better with an aqua shirt that picks up the turquoise accents in the scarf.
I don't believe the color faded over the decade. I'm left wondering whether the dark blue-teal I'm seeking would be found in canard. Colvert seems to be a leather color, not fabric.
Pocketbook if you were able to photograph your petrol HS in good light it would be informative.
