Firstly, thank you so much to yodaling and others who have given us such detailed peeks into the new season! You're amazing and my greedy H-loving heart thanks you.

That said, I personally don't see much to interest me this season. I'm not too keen on tattoo designs, mishmashes, plaids or solids. Some of the designs seem a bit repetitive (the Annie Faivre in particular). I love sci-fi but I'm not feeling the UFO love, maybe partly because I don't want that design in a 90 but in a cute 70 to match Minuit au Faubourg. I was so excited for Pegase d'Hermes in 140 but the paisley overlay obstructs/distracts too much of the original design for me. [emoji22][emoji24][emoji29]

Now, you may see me frantically back pedaling like there's no tomorrow once mod shots are posted [emoji23] but so far the only thing that remotely gets my heart beating a little faster is this lovely:

But that's OK! In fact, I'm HAPPY that I'm not too crazy about this season because there's sooooo much from 2017SS that I still want, and my covetous heart (and wallet) needs a break! And I'm happy for those of you who are fans of tattoos, mishmashes, plaids, solids, UFOs and the like, because this is YOUR season! [emoji5]

Couldn't agree more on the Pegase d'Hermès Joannadyne! Was disappointed by it, the paisley for me takes away to much away from the beautiful design.

Also really like the the scarf you posted, would love to have it in a different CW, but fear this might be an exceptional scarf. We already have the Cavalcadour Morning CSGM and this one has what seems to be added silk flowers constructed from current season scarves (I spot parts of Appaloosa de Steppes. Jardin de Marahani, On A Summer Day and Iris). Unless I win the lottery, I'm afraid I won't be able to afford this one!

I feel exactly the same way about "Le Pegase d' Hermes". The pattern makes it look like old wallpaper. Sad imo.

Angelian, good eye! ;-)

Oh, wow, good eye and good point on the cavalcadour, Angelian! Yeah, if it's an exceptional, it's not meant to come home with me, either. [emoji26]

Yes, won't someone free poor ol' Pegase d'Hermes from the paisley prison bars of his cell?? It also really does remind me of wallpaper.

I wish H would leave iconic grail designs alone when reissuing. (C'est la Fete, Coup de Fouet are two such recent tinkered-with examples that come to mind.) We love them for a reason - the design is perfect as is! We just want more cws of it, no tinkering around. This was my reaction to each of these:

I am curious as to why they chose to give Pegase the paisley treatment but then do a faithful reissue of something like voitures a transformation, which imo is a much more traditional design that could use a little sprucing up... Did they feel there was too much negative space in Pegase and Coup de Fouet for a 140? Both are larger-sized designs, it's true. But then just reissue in 90 then, like Paperoles from SS! Now there's a design that would've looked smashing as a giant carre (sans paisley)!

What up, H???

Agree with your thoughts. Most of the scarves seem disappointing and/ or repetitive. I don't like the walllpaper nonsense either. It's good for my budget. I only wanted to buy a cashmere or two in relatively staid designs so I'll probably be fine. There aren't any exciting silks to drain my wallet.

I am glad I am not the only who thought of wallpaper when I saw Pegase au Bloc! The pattern reminded me exactly of the wallpaper my parents had in our bathroom when I was a kid. These days, who wallpapers a bathroom?????

ETA: I completely down with UFOs though.

I agree with a lot of what was said above however I am interested in seeing modeling photos and trying on these!:
This one looks like it wears well IMG_1497439057.805500.jpg
UFO might be a bit too weird for me to wear to work but in this format it can be a fun secret IMG_1497439072.669266.jpg
I'm headed to Vancouver in August and the Canada scarf would be a great memento

I don't have many red scarves and these look festive for Christmas/winter

Count me in as a disappointed scarf collector of how this beautiful, favorite GRAIL design has been completely overwhelmed by a very hideous floral stripe. The lovely calligraphic edges are swallowed up by the overlay, and it makes me heartsick of what was done to my favorite of all scarf designs. Then the colors have also magnified the problems even further. If it had been a subtle pattern, tone on tone, maybe it could have worked better. I was seriously aghast at what was done to this original design. Sorry to rant, but I just could not keep quiet any longer. So very very sad. I guess i have to treasure my 90 for a while longer. I really wanted a shawl in this pattern in its original design.

I totally agree, lanit. They did the same with Coup Fouet.

What is the name of the top scarf in your post? You have picked out some lovely designs.

I so agree! :hugs: The Pegasus lost the mystery! I am so sad. Especially after folding, I can only see flowers.
It is a nice idea to do layers, actually I think it works well with Coup Fouet because the original design is very simple. So adding some flowers make it fun.
But Pegasus design itself is complicate enough, it does not need any other decoration. I feel it's Greek mythology meets country music, either is nice but they do not swirl together. :annoyed:
