Just got the scarf stories booklet for Fall. What I didn't realize that the Jardin a Sintra scarf is based on the Palace of Monseratte in Sintra Portugal. Don't know if anyone else new this so I thought I would share my discovery. Here are some pictures I found quickly browising the web. I want to go! (For now, it makes my scarf just that more enjoyable to wear).

It's spectacular in person. Until recently (had twins!) we summered there every year. In the photo of the gardens you can see elements of the scarf.

The current more drapery silk ...
Ok I hate this ... they keep changing fabrics ... it is not that the new ones are wrong / bad but it would be nice to know ..
I hated the 140 cm silks when they came out , fabric was too thin for my taste , so, I avoided them rather than admitting to the sa that they felt cheesy to me for fear of incurring the wrath of the sa for disparaging remarks about the silks ... not my thing ... lemme be ...
but , it would be nice if the web site told you it was some new hunky dory fabric , worth checking out

I know exactly what you mean - first issue GM silk Lalbhai, Kachinas, Coaching were all that thin silk. Very wrinkly and flimsy. Recent issues are much more substantial. I have a Lalbhai from S/S 2017 and the silk is faaaaabulous.

Hi All, Unfortunately I have been unable to participate on this or any other tPF thread due to an expected serious illness. Medical details are quite unnecessary but I can add that the head of my medical team is renown Neurosurgeon.

Due to the fact that I am on complete lock-down at home and pretty much on bed rest ~ I am going to ask a huge favor from my TPF friends:

Could one of you post a list the F/W 140cm CSGM offerings, just the names will be sufficient and if a pic is nearby, that will be wonderful too.

This will be very much appreciated as I am unable to spend too much time using anything that involves hand and eye coordination, so reading through this thread is quite frankly impossible and calling my SA is a task that I am not up to yet.

Many thanks! xoxoxo
Vigee....wishing you a full and speedy recovery. I am so sorry. Thoughts and prayers are with you!

You have been missed!

:hugs:

Ok - my shawl-appooloza shopping reveal

Pirouttes au Galop - fell in love this design and this particular CW as soon as I saw. So I am over the top that I got it and it works for me. In this CW, I think the grey looks like an artist's charcoal sketches of a horse. And who can't love this face? - talking about the horse - not me!

Duo d'Etriers - this shawl wasn't on my radar until I saw pictures of it here and in this CW and felt I had to check it out. So thank you my enabler elves! Love the soft pastel colours (not wearing the right shade of pink but you get the idea).

Les Voitures a Transformation - this also wasn't on my radar but then I saw the shawl in these colours. It was the vibrant colours that drew me in, not so much the design. But when you tie it, the shawl magically transforms into a cascade of geometric patterns and colours.

These look spectacular on you, CBL. I like that they are each so different. The last one... is it Voitures?... is such a flattering shade of cobalt blue.

Elaine, yes the last one is Voitures. It is amazing shade of blue.

They all look gorgeous on you! Congrats! This Les Voitures a Transformation is on my WL and you model it so beautifully with your pink top. I hope I'll be your twin very soon!

Me too! Please share! :)

I love all your selections, Canuck! My favorite is Voitures, the colors are amazing on you and it truly does live up to its "a transformation" name!

Great choices. Hmm, that last one may be on my radar now....

I like all your choices. You have such a great shawl collection CBL, and it seems that all the colours suit you. Congrats

Love your shawl choices. And of course, since "we are the people of the frozen north", we can never have too many CSGMs to snug up in! LOL ....But they work with arctic air con as well. A past employer had offices in Houston, and I always brought a shawl to wrap up in when I went there on business so I didn't freeze.

LOL - yes I justify my CSGM purchases because they make surviving winter "fun" :)

Thank you all (and a big thanks for all the likes too!). Also glad you all enjoyed the scarf stories.

I totally agree! Looking at the scarves and the RTW pieces, I'm fairly sure that will be the case or that there will be quite a few Glycine bags being offered in the next few months. (Which I hope!!!) Oh, dear eagle, and you're always giving me great color pairing ideas!
Thank you, cavalla, glad to share potentially inspirational color ideas! I am gravitating toward brown-toned HS, too. I hope someone gets the NDOP in dark brownish colors, I like tribal designs (actually any color in that design is intriguing).
Cavalla, what color is glycine -- or what tpf leather thread do I look at to check it out?

Dear Eagle, if you're talking about this CW, hey, we think alike! I tried it in store.

Ndop H003137S-09.jpg

I was a bit hesitant to try it when I saw it flat because I tend to look sallow when I wear so much dark colors around my face, but somehow something in this scarf got me very curious about how it would tie. The mix of gray (more like etain) and different warmth of browns together for such a modern design gives it a lot of potential. SA and I paired it with this jacket and it's unbelievably elegant. It is amazing tied!

It's either this one or the almond green one (or both) that is / are going home with me. And it might work as my power scarf at some point paired with some crisp, structural, light but sharp colored outfits. It looks wisely serious with a jacket like that. I didn't take photo that day as I was a bit in a hurry. But I definitely endorse this CW.

The Jige in this photo is in swift and grizzly glycine. I think it will go very well with many scarves from this season.

I tried this cw of Ndop on as well and it's surprising chic. :) It's definitely on my list.

This is such a great design. c/w 12 is my fave but you can't really go wrong with any!
This looks lovely on you.
I love this color combo too. I was *this* close but went with the prune/noir since I have a turquoise bandana [Peuple du Vent] from a few years ago already. However, the all-en site shows a cashmere/silk blend [CSTPM? haha] COACHING bandana in Parme/Kaki that I may have to hunt down. The Kaki color is really nice.
Thank you! The kaki color is my soft spot. I am looking into the Eperon d'Or Bandana in this color as well...

Dear cavalla, eagle1002us and klynneann, I agree with you all on NDOP -- the "surprise" scarf for me this FW 2017. I find most of the cw's of this design beautifully balanced (the photos on the website seem off compared to colours irl).

Inspired by cavalla's 140cm silk Beta in vert amande and vieux rose, I'm drawn to NDOP in cw07 in vieux rose/absinthe/beige.

Cavalla, what is the striking scarf you are wearing in the photo?
