I do not have a direct comparison but I absolutely remember the original lalbhai shawls were definitely different - the original gm silks were much thinner and lighter. This new issue is heavier and more luxurious, almost like the gm dip dyes.

IMO the new GM silks are more comparable to 90cm carrés (perhaps just a bit denser) but not the sueded feel of the GM dip dyes. My original GM lalbhais are thinner/lighter than 90cm carrés still. So I would rate as follows, from lightest to densest/heaviest:
GM summer twills
carrés - GM silks
GM dip dyes

I saw a couple of Lalbhai GMs today, very impressed, they drape beautifully. Left empty handed due to the bright lighting in the boutique which sadly has no daylight in which to gauge whether cw really suits. Will mull over cw options and look at clothing options.

I noticed that the new 100cm scarves have a new price- $740.00 vs $720.00 for the past season scarves. I wonder if this is an anomaly or if a price increase is on the way.

My Psyche 140cm Silk from AW 2011 was sold as Twill Lavé / Washed Silk , as opposed to the SS 2011 edition Lalbhai which was sold as Summer Silk or Plume Silk .
The Psyche is very similar to the current 140cm Lalbhai which as has been said resembles a 90cm carré in hand. I find it to be a lot of silk to handle and too warm for Summer yet not cosy for Winter.
The 140cm Dipdye from 2011 feels different again, velvety , drapey and soft .Easy to wear.
