For those who are curious...
After GG's post of her purple tyger, I thought it was time to pay full tribute to the incredible words of William Blake. When I took the time to really READ the poem (which I hadn't done, since I was a college freshman) it amazed me how well the carré captures Blakes stanzas.
Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies.
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand, dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder, & what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain,
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp,
Dare its deadly terrors clasp!
When the stars threw down their spears
And water'd heaven with their tears:
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?
Tyger Tyger burning bright,
In the forests of the night:
What immortal hand or eye,
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

and for all the tiger's ferocity, we have murdered nearly all for so called sport and ripped away their forest home in the name of progress. No wonder the tiger looks so sad on AS' scarf.

Sorry Nuttynut, I didn't mean to depress anyone, I was in a 'funny' mood after some hideous FB postings about animals.
I know (and am happy to know) Alice Shirley is a very active supporter of wildlife causes and I'm loving her designs for H, Tyger Tyger included, I can't wait to own my own.

Thank you so much Vitimani H. I was hoping for a sunny day to take better pictures. But no luck! The flowers and the tiger lit ally jump off the scarf. Amazing...The most beautiful colors, GG! My favorite so far! The flowers are stunning and love that the tiger still has his blue eyes. Congrats to you and your TPF friend!
Congrats, Croisette! The water is such a beautiful blue and so life like, as are the mossy colored trees. I can't wait to hear about all of your other treasures!! Enjoy!
This looks exquisite on you, PbP! You wear black and white with such flair.
