the new CSGM touch seems much more resistant to me than the old one.
I have a very good feeling with the new shawl.

very similar to jardin de leila but with this orange sparkle is so beautiful..

sissy, my friend, love ALL of your new CSGMs, congrats. This neutral, cavaliers du caucase 16 naturel/orange/noir is spectacular. LOVE.

Absolutely beautiful (I am a big fan of this design). Was it more cost wise than previous CSGMs?

I'm a bit confused though. I would have thought that more cashmere to silk ratio would make the CSGM softer, thicker and perhaps warmer but not necessarily stronger and more resistant.

I have to say that my Zebra Peg (AW14) seems just fine and I've worn it lots (certainly no babying) You've all made me completely paranoid about it now though  I am hoping (as in praying) H are going for extra quality and durability and not making up for some shortfall in their source of cashmere.

I certainly can tell the difference between Ballentyne/Pringle/Chanel (my Chanel cashmere is made in Scotland) LP/Elgin and makes like M&S etc (Fabriqué en Chine)

Not to enable you, but I have to say, I have a few CSGMs from the last couple of seasons and haven't had any problems at all. Maybe I'm just lucky (or blind to the flaws!), but I don't baby them, just use them normally. Just wanted to offer another POV, because the stories of quality issues are quite shocking but not everyone has experienced them -- at least, I haven't. :smile1:

I have to also say that, as a long time Loro Piana client, I have purchased several CSGM shawls from Hermès in the last few years and have noticed no unusual issues so far. Design wise, Hermès has no equal IMO, and I am quite satisfied!

Well, that's a relief! The new shawls are so gorgeous, I would have hated to turn my back on them!:sweatdrop:

It's not really that bad... but your scarf is in pristine condition, so it's hard to really compare anything to yours! I wear mine all the time, and some of them have become a tiny bit fuzzy (as they have softened alot), and I discovered my first pull on one the other day. I wouldn't say they're in bad condition at all (quite the opposite)... but certainly compared to yours which is decades old and near perfect, I can imagine mine will look much more worn than yours in 20+ years.

I adore all of my Hermes shawls and will continue buying them in the future. In my opinion the quality of the modern shawls is still great - but a decade or 2 ago the quality was exceptionally good :p
And I might have just gotten a particularly good one. You never know... after all, they aren't made by robots!

Absolutely beautiful both  (I am a big fan of this design). Were these more cost wise than previous CSGMs?

It's stunning, sissy! I'm always such a sucker for contrast borders.

Here are a couple of closeup photos. I don't know if it's obvious on the computer screen, but the colors are still as bright as they were in 1987, and there's no pilling. Also, the fabric hasn't gotten thin in any places, and there isn't a single pull. As I said before, I have not babied it; it's just woven very tightly. But it has a lovely, soft, drape-y "hand." Very comforting on a chilly evening!

Stunning in every way ElainePG, I hope mine last as long :-s
