HELP! I am looking to purchase an Estrela Mm and I curious about the date code! The one I am looking at isn't stamped into the lining. It's on a piece of vachetta. Is this normal? Thank you ladies!

I fell in love with this Estrela at the Saks Boston LV store and the tax free event helped a lot.

It's the perfect everyday bag...

I love the long shoulder straps and the cross body....it's carries everything including files and if I need my MacBook.
It also looks great not as full because it slouches. Loooooove it

Beautiful! Congrats.

I got the Estrela MM last week and had been sunning her beside a window for 5 days. Brought her out for the first time today. So amazingly light and comfortable!

She's gorgeous! I've had mine since April, but haven't used it yet. I've been tanning her more frequently the last few weekends, in fact she's by the window right now. :) I am soooo.. tempted to pre-treat the vachetta with LMB, leather conditioner, or patina champ's method, but I don't want to ruin the leather. It's just too pretty to mess with. Sigh...

That was my plan, to let her tan naturally before I use it as I was terrified of ruining so much vachetta. My will to hold out lasted for all of one week. Ended up caving in and did the patina champ method the night before I used it for the first time. I made sure the cloth was wrung out and super dry. It didn't darken the vachetta at all, not sure if that meant I did it correctly or not, but I felt more confident using it after that.

You're a brave lady! I've noticed when I use any method, whether on brand new vachetta or preloved, the reddish brown stitch lines either fade or rub off. For example, when I pre-treated my brand new neverfull pm, I used LMB with white cosmetic sponges. After applying, I noticed brown stains on the sponges, and the stitch lines were significantly lighter. Did you see a difference on your Estrela after patina champ?

So far I've treated my 2 bags that have vachetta with Apple Garde waterproofing spray, then the patina champ method. The Apple Garde did not change the vachetta at all after it dried, even when I was pretty heavy-handed with it. I didn't put any cream on it (i.e. Apple Garde conditioner), even though the instructions that came with the kit said to apply that before the waterproofing spray.

With patina champ, there is no difference in my brand new Estrela at all. With my Pallas which I had used for 2 months before trying the method, there was very slight darkening: Photo here The cloth I used on Pallas was wetter and I kind of scrubbed it a little. With Estrela, I did very light and quick sweeps.

By stitch line, do you mean the brownish line parallel to the yellow stitches? Those lines did not fade in any way after patina champ method.

Yes, I was referring to those lines parallel to the yellow stitches. So you sprayed first, then PC method? Maybe the spray protected the lines from fading? I've never sprayed any of my bags. I might end up doing that instead. I'm digging the shade of my vachetta now. It's still a little light, but way better than brand new, terrifyingly white, vachetta! Lol. Here's what mine looks like after 4 months. It looks a lot lighter in photo, so I threw in the strap from my 2010 Neo, to show the difference. Poor thing never sees the light of day. :D

I definitely see the difference against the new vachetta. Looks really good, your patina is coming along nicely! I wonder how dark the patina has to be before the it is considered water and stain proof.
