Soooo…. Today our SA texted me and told me to bring in the P9 ASAP as he’s trying to get the manager to approve an exchange - a red P9 25 had become available instore. I packed everything up and brought it down and voila! Exchange approved. So I have a brand new speedy P9 25 in the same red (the color is slightly less vibrant somehow, but still ok) AND our SA went to repack the entire thing in the P9 white packaging AND the replacement P9 is now in my purchase history.

This means I can service and repair the P9 and I’ll be eligible to purchase the lock charm when it comes out in FW2025! Talk about a happy ending!! LOL.

There are differences though - so this is clearly a P9 that’s been part of the “reissue” for this year using the original season’s colors, so the plaque inside the bag is different. (Pictures taken at night so pardon the terribly inadequate lighting)

The leather square inside the pouch is now replaced by a hot stamp

The smaller dust bag holding the pouch and strap etc previously is now much smaller and can only fit the pouch

And most surprisingly no more pillow stuffer! I asked our SA if he had missed it out and he says not every P9 comes with a pillow now. But he told me to swing by to pick up the old pillow when I’m available.

Why is LV cutting corners even for the P9? The mind boggles.
I feel like your first bag was a production sample (or something like that) they don’t like those floating around.
 
Yes. They are both from the reissue. But the green one did come with a pillow- which I use often when the bag isn’t in use. i’m glad your CA is offering you to keep your original pillow.

I believe it was the very first batch of P9s so the chance of an error like this being made could be there. Don’t think production samples would be floating amongst retail items though?

Ahhhhh!!!! Super happy ending (except for the pillow)~ This was the best outcome indeed, yay! :party:

My CA has one quota to order too. She's recommending it to me as well. I'm torn because even though it's a pretty color, The most feminine in the 25 selection. it wasn't on my radar. And if I can only afford one p9. Summer Peach wouldn't be the color I'd choose.

My list is pretty normal, I want the bag to be able to withstand wear and tear better and ideally all year round.
1. Brown.
2. Blue or Amethyst.
3. Turquoise (again a summer color).

I think brown is just quintessential LV. Although it is not available to order, it will come back again.
I agree with brown. If I’m only getting one it would be that one.
 
The purple is nice individually; however, I find it hard to match it with my outfits. I think I'm already very color adventurous since I wear lots of pinks.

I wish going forward the p9s can be produced in more neutral/ elegant colors, rather than hip and sharp, in your face colors.

But it's a men's collection and so on athletes and celebrities they look really nice. But as a woman, I want something more graceful for my everyday wardrobe.
Agree. I do like the red but not sure about it for that $$ investment. I don’t know if I could make it work on the daily.

Or some kind of color in the grey, cream, brown family.
I'm thinking Hermes colors with light or darker logos.

I think Pharrell’s style is a bit more maximalist than this though… judging from what he’s put out so far at LV. There is a suede P9 that has a more muted tan color but it comes with embroidered logos and an even higher price point…

By the way the stores have pillows they can give you. I would ask for one. It may not be the exact one that was going to fit into the p9 but they should provide one to keep the shape.

They make the biggest commission on hard sided pieces, from what I hear. Which explains this odd "buy a trunk" sales pitch you may be hearing. I don't think I know anyone who buys trunks in general, eps not my friends who own p9s. Reach out to a new SA or I can give you mine, who would never pressure you for that. Feel free to DM me. Buying a trunk would be some serious money to fork over just to have the honor to spend $10k more for a p9. That is Hermes level bribery. LOL. Cheaper to just buy on StockX or eBay at that point and save yourself $70k.

Also, anyone can reach out to the 800# concierge. It has been surprisingly effective for me. You just click on the Contact Concierge button on the website when you search for the p9 you are looking for. They send you back a somewhat automated email but with an actual person's contact. I replied with what I was looking for (very specific color and size combo) and never expected to hear back. Next thing I know, I get a text from them just recently and then follow up email that what I was looking for is something they can order right now (pink 30!!!). So I got the payment link and preordered it. Easy peasy. There is no ETA (maybe 3-6mo?) but hey... they have my money now, which is one step closer to my dream combo.
I went through this in the Boutique. They took my payment but then a couple of weeks later they refunded and said they aren’t allowed to hold the money anymore due to a new policy. I’m in the uk so I don’t know if it is different here.

My CA said she could place the order for a red 30 but it is the whole "who knows when will you get it if ever" so in the US they are still taking our money and holding it for God knows how long.
