I had the SC bag - no longer as I decided to let it go a while back. But I do recall one of the reasons was the heaviness of the thick leather. Noticeable difference with the P9 - the leather on the P9 is incredibly smoosh, soft, buttery and much thinner and that seems to make it weigh less and be easier to hold imo.

Hi all! Does anyone know how the P9 vachetta holds up? Is it your typical vachetta that cannot get wet? I was able to get a size 40 in the Amethyste but don't want to make the mistake of carrying at a bad time and the vachetta getting water marks. Thanks in advance!

Amethyste was released at the same time as my Turquoise. My CA told me that the vachetta is not treated and advised against getting it wet. Congratulations! Can't wait to see you post your beautiful bag!

Hello there! I do have both and can tell you that the leather on the SC is much thicker than the P9. Although the SC will soften with time, I don't think it will ever be as soft as a P9. However, there are times that I do worry about the thinner leather on my P9s being easier to damage. The quality of the P9 at least in my opinion, is every good as the SC. But given the price, I would sure hope so! The only other comparison I would make is that the SC PM is a perfect size. It's much closer to a Speedy 30 which is my perfect size. I wish that both my P9's had been available in that size. But I do love them in spite of that!
