I’m happy to finally own this bag. I had to physically go to the boutique to exchange my first one (from online) as it had some chipping - photo #2.
At the store I checked 3 Alma BBs each had minor issues so I just settled with the best one. I’m happy with the bag anyway

Hi there,
I am a little disappointed with my Alma bb.
I got it last October, so it‘s not even a year old, I wore it five times (3x to a restaurant, 2x shopping) and it never was in the rain or in humid weather.
I noticed black spots a while ago and now they have gotten worse. I tried to clean it gently with a damp cloth, then with a polishing cloth for jewelry and then with the ketchup trick (but its apparently no brass) and well ... I just hate to say that an almost brand new bag looks like that. I wouldn‘t bother if I had worn it nonstop the past months or if it was 5 years old with moderate use... but after 5 times in less than a year?????

I didn‘t experience that on any other of my bags (Speedy, NeoNoe, Noe etc...)

This makes the decision to sell the bag quite easy now.

So weird that the ketchup trick hasn't worked..you can ask lv maybe they will exchange the bag before you try selling it

Maybe I was doing it wrong?! Any advice ?
I really like this bag... it‘s not actually practical and not easy to get in and out of when carried on the shoulder or crossbody- but it is just so cute and classic. But this wear after almost no use puts me off ...

The ketchup didn’t work because LV doesn’t use brass anymore. It is shiny gold covered metal. I have this same bag and have had it a couple of months and used it quite a bit and I don’t have any issues with the hardware. I would take it to LV and let them fix it or replace it.

Maybe I was doing it wrong?! Any advice ?

Hmm...I had this exact problem with my speedy b30 in DE after one use. My guess is that it must have been a return. I took the bag back (within 5 days of purchase) and they swapped it out. I thought Alma bb's hardware was more durable so this is surprising to me. Maybe others with this bag can chime in. Either way I'm sorry this happened to your bag.

I looked at preloved Almas on the resale Market and NONE of them (1-3 years old) showed these spots!!!

I’m pretty sure LV will probably give you a new bag. I was in the middle of the 2015 glazing issues on my speedy 30 Empreinte and I took it in and a couple days later, they called me and said they would give me full credit for the bag and I picked out something else.

Wow- that was good service! What did you pick instead? Didn‘t you want your bag back?

Well,...I texted and sent pictures. Either they do something about it or I will sell it on.... I really like this bag and thought it would be a forever piece. Thats why I also got the clochette heat stamped.

Good luck. When I took mine in, the SA showed it to the manager and they said it shouldn't do that after one use and since I only had it for a few days, but I'm not sure they would've agreed if I had it for a few months. I hope they do something for you tho. Even though speedy and Alma are their lower prices bags, it's still annoying bc even contemporary bags don't really have these issues.

I hadn’t had the speedy very long and that year it was a known problem with the glazing. I ended up getting the bagatelle which has been since discontinued. I like it and so far no glazing issues!!

Joining the club! This is my first Alma bb and I don't see it being my last! I'm absolutely in love with the colour, and I think the shape is so classy.

This is also my first epi bag so I just want to check do epi bags hold up well against rain, scratches etc? Anything I should know about how to care for it?

I have a black Epi Neverfull MM which got a huge scratch on it within the first 3 months of barely using it. The SAs at LV told me that it’s supposed to be more durable than that and that it shouldn’t get scratched easily - so they gave me a new one. My new one hasn’t gotten scratched.

Hi everyone. I noticed my Alma Bb has a crease/line along the leather trim next to the bottom of the bag and I’ve noticed a lot of them do that. Did yours develop this line, too? I wonder why some do and others don’t. I saw a picture of a new one at the store with that crease too from another member. The bb is mine and the pm is from another member here.

Please help! What is a fair price for a pink ballerina vernis alma bb with gold hardware in very good condition with box, dust bag and receipt? I saw one on a preloved site and I’m wondering what is a fair price to pay for such item. Thanks in advance!
