The Borough Bag

Thought I'd put this here in case someone recognizes their bag in this listing:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NWT-COACH-B...737?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item3ce2870ed9

This seller steals pics from google and TPF and doesn't photograph their own bags. They took a pic of my sea mist phoebe and are using it in their listing. Claim it is ok because they "found it on google." Ugh. So, just a lesson to you all, watermark your pictures! I know it's hard to do it every time :( but there are lazy scumbag sellers out there stealing other people's work and misrepresenting it. Ebay will do nothing because it's not from my listing (it's not for sale!!).

I hate to admit this, but this is one (not THE, just one) reason I stopped posting mod pics and personal camera shots of my bags. Now I've downloaded watermarking apps, so I could go back to posting if I wished to do so, in the way I used to post. I found (more than a few times, thx to tpf members here, who alerted me) my pics in EBAY listings. It infuriates me bc I've never sold a bag on EBAY. And for others to google and use screen shots of my pics just got me so peeved.

Good post and sage advice, jane.....

For those who have a large borough bag, do you wear it everyday? If so, is it mainly for work or do you find yourself wearing it generally for all day everyday purpose? I have the large borough in black pebble and I'm starting to think it is a little too big.

Any thoughts or comments are appreciated!! 😊😊

I have a large retro tan borough, which I have not removed the tag from yet for that very reason. It's huge! If I keep it, I will only use it for work. It's a beautiful bag, but not sure how useful it will be for me, even for work. I carry lots of papers/books, and wonder how it will hold up. I so wanted this bag, but am now so unsure.

I think it will be great for work although I haven't used it yet for that purpose. I had a medium alpine moss and sold it because I thought the large borough will be more suitable for me, but it's huge! And when I do stuff it with my stuff, it becomes that much heavier. In hindsight, the medium was probably a better size. I am 5"5 and 95lbs.
I definitely do not think its an everyday purse? Unless carrying handbags twice your size is "in" right now. I was thinking of using it for weekend getaways or carry on when going on vacations....not sure what to do. It's such an investment too!

I usually wear it for work, but for me I have a lot of big files to shuffle around, so sometimes over the weekend I'll carry the large borough too. But if it's not for those, I'll probably get a medium, though I have to say I like my bags large :p

I totally understand your concerns. I have drooled over pics of the large Borough:

  1. lrg pebbled blk on Lea Michele - and she's not esp tall. ALL the online pics of her with this bag look SO fantastic imo
  2. lrg retro tan on this tall thin blond model - looks fantastic seeing it soft, pliable with a bit of slouch
But EVERY time I model the large Borough in store, I just think it looks like a briefcase on ME. I don't mind briefcases...I need & have a few but I wanted SO much to carry the large Borough casually like Lea Michele and this blond girl

I already have med Borough bags and minis...so I have truly been tempted just to get ONE large. We shall see...maybe it's just the way I see myself? I'm 5'5" and I think it ought to work but whatever....maybe I will just wait for the large soft version in FW2014

Thanks for posting these! I've seen the first one before but not the second two. I love the idea of the large borough but in person it always seems so big. But with lovely slouch, it might not look so big once it's broken in.

I purchased this bag, the glove tan leather. I have to say, it's not one of my favorites. The leather is not very forgiving, I like a softer bag. There are also so many compartments. I hate to say it, but I regret this purchase a bit. Sadly, it was an expensive purchase.
