The best, worst and most dramatic handbag purchases?

Best: It’s a toss up between my Coach Cassie and my two Coach Willow Totes 24. They are great everyday bags. No muss. No fuss.

Worst: Chanel Twisted Flap. I LOVE that bag. It’s cool and edgy. However, I have come to the realization within the last year that I obviously don’t like red bags. I’m not a fan of black or neutral handbags. Therefore, I don't ever try to match my outfits to my bags. I carry the bag that I need for the day. However, I own three red bags and can count on one hand that I’ve carried those three bags. However, I’m not getting rid of them. I do pull them out to use ever so often.

Best - Hermes Evelynes. Gorgeous leather, practical, hardwearing and by far my most used bags. Worth every penny.

Worst - Givenchy Shark. Fab looking, elegant bag. Unreliable catch, bag tipped forward to deposit contents on pavement at every opportunity. Quickly moved it on.

best: Hermès Evelyne - for all the reasons commonly stated.

worst: Prada saffiano lux promenade in yellow?… no idea what I was thinking. I can’t wear yellow and the bag has never worked for me. It is also not a bag that will improve with use.

I think one of my best purchases ever-ever has been a very H Evelyne-esque navy Kylie bag from Decadent of Copenhagen. I've carried it so much over the last 3 years and it's still a summer favorite. I use it with several different straps and I can fit a lot of stuff in the bag, incl. a 500 ml water bottle or a scarf.


The worst purchase is still M Tillie drawstring bag. Impractical, the strap too short to carry over the shoulder, and made a significant loss when selling/trading. I still curse myself over this, as I could have gotten a M leopard print canvas tote, an Alexa or a Bayswater for the same price!
I did purchase an Alexa later on, I loved it for a few years and then moved it on as M quality has proven to be less than spectacular and the HW on Lexy was losing its finish.
