Another vote for Coach. And Rioni. While many of their purses are inspired, my favorite is totally unique - Tall Tote Shopper in Black - 100 dollars. Covered canvas and treated leather. Works well with our unreliable weather and seems almost indestructable.

I would say Frank Clegg's bags are the best value. They are handmade in Massachusetts and guaranteed for life.. He's been making bags since the 1970's. You can get a gorgeous satchel or tote for less than $1000. He also has some very high end alligator pieces. I emailed him through his website the other day to ask him if he would consider making a woman's wristlet and he emailed me back within a day. He has a lot of new items coming out in early 2013. (no affiliation, just love quality and value. I'm always on the hunt for it in all forms) yhttp://frankcleggleatherworks.com/

A vintage Bally quilted leather.
So many styles to choose from, and they wear like iron.
One of my most favorite "go to" bags is the quilted drawstring lambskin. Dresses up or down beautifully.

Wow, never heard of Frank Clegg before, but I love what I see on his website. Thanks for sharing!

Personally, I love Louis Vuitton.:D I enjoy that their basic canvas bags (such as the monogram Speedy and Damier Neverfull) are super durable, and can really take a beating. They are also super light-weight and neutral enough to incorporate into most ensembles. As such, I feel they are a great value for the money. I also love that Louis Vuitton designs more expensive and exclusive bags, for those wishing to splurge. I consider purses to be works of art in a way, and I enjoy collecting Louis Vuittons, especially the Limited Editions, as they represent a unique moment in Louis Vuitton's fashion evolution! (I just wish I could afford more of those Limited Editions!):p

I will definitely go with the LV Speedy Monogram.
I have mine for 22 years and it is just getting better with age.
The bag doesn't get scratched like leather bags. And the style will never go out of fashion.
Like someone mentioned earlier in this thread, it is one of the least expensive model in the LV collection and you will carry it for years.

The only bag I own that I would really say had 'bang for my buck' would be my longchamp le pliage, since I've carried it everyday since I bought it, and its survived multiple trips through the washing machine and still looks new.

This +1 :)

Does anyone know where I can find/ purchase Wanlima purses or wallets in Toronto? I agree they are fantastic line of well- made purses (stylish, durable and good value)? There used to be a store at the Pacific Mall with Wanlima brands but I don't know the name of the store, and when I went there the other day to look for it, the store was not there anymore (or maybe I just did not know where to look). I noticed there was an old post a few years back by someone who also thought Wanlima was great value ( and I totally agree...)

Hi, it was me.
I've not seen Wanlima in USA.
I wish they sold it here, because they are durable and long lasting.
I don't need a flashy bag where I work. Grey-black works fine.
Wanlima would of been perfect. If you eventually find one, let me know, I will order it too.
