To bump this thread, I just saw this Dionysus hobo online. I like the embroidered details, but it is probably not a bag that would work for me. Sure looks interesting though:

That's such a shame about the MTO, but I don't see you (or me) with a pink ruffle either. I agree with you on the chain length too, I think on a MTO people should be able to order any length chain.

I like the additional flowers, it gives the bag something extra IMO. I agree about the heart though, the bag would probably look better without it.
The Broadway clutch looks interesting, and I like the pink interior. It is not something that would work for me, but it looks interesting. The only thing I wonder is how the metallic color would hold up.

Yes, it was a bummer that they did not accept a different chain length or a back pocket.
And to be honest, I liked the bag as it was (without ruffle that is hehe). I mean, it has beige suede sides and a silver tone buckle. I am not sure if I would like a buckle with stones in it anyway, I would be afraid that it might cheapens the look of the bag. And a different color suede could work (like blue), but since there is so much embroidery going on, it might be best to keep it simple and neutral (as it is with the beige suede sides).
A little bit OT, but here are two quick pics as a reference of a MTO Dionysus. With ruffle . I still kind of like it, but I'll wait for the perfect one. And who knows, maybe there will be more options for MTO in the future.

Love the bag, and it looks amazing on you, but I don't like the ruffle, even the colour of the ruffle. I think blue sides could work, no one really sees more than a flash of the sides. You're right about the hw, there's enough going on, on this. I'm sure the crystal hw look better on simpler models, I saw it on a natural python and it looked splendid.

I'm sure the metallic would be fine of the Broadway but like all finishes it pays to be a bit more careful. It's like a mini precious suitcase, and these hard-sided pieces are much more expensive to produce which makes it a total bargain. I think I may pop-in tomorrow, just for look I wonder if Sloane St have their MTO up and running by now too?

I even asked if they could make an exception and make one for me without ruffle, but they were firm with their answer "I am sorry ma'am, but the ruffle is included in this model, we can't order it for you without." . And I wasn't really a fan of their other selection MTO Dionysus bags. Yes, I saw a nice one in the big size, which was really too big for me. And it was not possible to order it in the smaller size...gah, what a suprise no ?
Mmm, I didn't think about python and crystal hw.....I think that could look very nice indeed. As for me, I am not in the market for an exotic, I would love a suede version or a nice embroidered version that speaks to me.

Agreed, Gucci sound a bit 'stiff' with their MTO. I thought the point was you could choose what you wanted. The large seemed a bit too large and heavy for me too, that's a lot of bag on one chain. I can't help but still like the plain black suede but obviously I didn't pull the trigger so... Let's wait and see, the Dionysus isn't going anywhere.
