I use phone screen protecting film. Not a tempered glass protector but the flimsy film. Cut it to size and it’s basically invisible!

I‘m also looking for an option to protect the metal on my Favorite and heard about phone film. Is it removable without any issue or leaving residue on the metal when you want to remove it? Thanks in advance

I haven’t had any issue with reissue but I guess that’s always a possibility. If it leaves a little sticky behind could always use goo gone to gently get it off. Maybe! I haven’t tried that but it gets sticky off everything else. Lol

I used the protective stickers on my favorite mm and they are fab, easy to use and you wouldn't know there's stickers on the hardware, highly recommend and they're only eight pounds

I just ordered mine as well. In the mean time I cut a piece of cell phone screen cover film to cover the front plate. It works for now but just isn’t perfect.
