Hey guys
What do you think about dupes, doesn’t matter wich designer brand.

Do you think this is ok to buy one just for trying if this purse is „yours“ and fit in your lifestyle or is this a no go.
The most dupes are so similar (in my eyes just the brands name is missing) and in my eyes everybody know what purse it is. But also it’s not a knockoff. Very very hard for my decision.

Interesting about your honestly opinion.

Depends on how Dupe it is.
There is a brand called Save My Bag... it's a spongy fabric bag and it isn't that cheap too.
Maybe about couple of low hundreds?
Actually perhaps, that's the brand's identity?!
Their style n design very much duped the Birkin, Celine Phantom and LV Alma.
This kinda dupe is ok.
But not "copy" dupe.
I personally won't buy Michael Kors dupe of a Chanel GST.
They even tried to copy the quilting.

That picture looks like the seller is completely copying Chanel.
I would put this in the "fake" category. There is no originality here...they just swapped the reissue chains with the classic chains.
Yes i also think so.... ist quite similar to the original

Oh no.. that's a bad choice really.
That's no Dupe.
It's a Replica.
To me.. Dupe is like.. I'll laugh it off coz it's trying to duplicate the style but yet.. it has its own branding or identity on it.
Replica is... Copy. Not even a comic version. More like... cut / copy /paste . Exclude the Logo coz it will get them into legal suits...

But no worries Babe! Good to discuss. . It's a forum after all ... just be sure not to fall into Replicas as that will make all your authentic &costly Chanels upset ... ^^

Has been discussed a lot, search for “inspired” There is a line between inspired by and a blatant rip off. The bag you’ve included as an example falls into the latter category to me.

Fakes/Replicas might fool other people, but you’ll always know you didn’t buy the real thing. And for most people, that’s kind of the point.

I bought my first Chanel when I was in my 20’s to celebrate a promotion / living on my own for the first time. It was a landmark purchase for a milestone in my life. Imagine if I’d have cheapened the experience by buying a fake of what I really wanted? Tragic, really.

Yes your‘re 100% right.
I never would bought fakes and for me it’s also to much similar. I also never bought preloved. But I would maybe buying preloved if the price will get higher more and more by Chanel. But buying new in store is normally what I want.
If I would buy these replica I have a feeling that all people think of me all my bags are Fakes, too. I have a woman here wich wearing this „brand“ with a boy Chanel „look alike“ and I thought my eyes fallen out of my head.

And one YouTuber bought his bag for seeing if she like it and then she will buy the original (was a Hermes bag)

So I was interested what you guys think about this „Dupe“

Rebecca Minkoff makes a LOT of dupes. I tried one that resembles a Balenciaga City bag and it couldn't even compare to the original. It was so much heavier and the leather looked crappy after a few uses. Tory Burch also has bags that resemble Chanel medium flaps...their leather also doesn't have a good track record. I had one where the glaze on the leather looked so bad that I had to officially retire the bag after only a few months. Ever since then, I stopped buying contemporary designer bags.

Thank you. Yes i agree. Don’t like and think the quality isn’t very well. Michael kors I also dislike the bags. Not a fan. Sorry. And 300 Dollar for a bag wich quality is poor then the bag is a expensive one and not cheap anymore.

I like coach and Furla vor contemporary brands

I have never been a fan of MK for this reason, I’d rather go for coach which has some originality.
At the end of the day it’s other peoples’ money, am I going to lecture people that wear fake bags? no, but deep down inside you know you want the real thing, and selling yourself short for buying a dupe/fake

IMO dupes are ok because they were never made close to the original usually and don’t have a brand label on it but replicas that have the brand names and even box authenticity card dust bags etc is not ok. Like not everyone had thousands to spend on a bag, I get that and when you want a certain look. Sometimes I would buy things because they look nice and don’t even realise it’s a dupe because it is so common nowadays. With replicas I don’t buy the argument of them wanting to try it before they get the real thing. Most of them don’t and they have a whole collection of replicas and yet call it as the brand instead. If you want to try it get a dupe then. It makes more sense to try something that looks similar but a lot cheaper than say pay hundreds of dollars often for well made replicas if you are going to buy the real thing. Don’t get a replica and pass it off as if you spend thousands when you are ripping off not just the design but the brand label
