That do you think about dupes

When talking about dupes - personally if the bag has some "inspired by" similarities to it I might be ok with it. But when some bags (Rebecca Minkoff, Tory Burch and others) start copying more than one design element (bag shape, quilting, similar hardware and strap) then the unoriginality turns me off. As for actual super fakes - I had one from LV many eons ago when I was out of my league and couldn't afford my dream bag - and I carried it one time and felt like a fraud (kinda because I was!) so I gave it away.

Yea if it’s from a known brand like Rebecca minkoff Michael kors etc it does turn me off whereas if it was a no brand I feel like it’s not so bad because they didn’t have the resource for designers etc but yet those contemporary brands really should be more original in their design rather than just copy off each other. That being said even luxury brands sometimes do it too and does make me cringe a little

I have never been a fan of MK for this reason, I’d rather go for coach which has some originality.
At the end of the day it’s other peoples’ money, am I going to lecture people that wear fake bags? no, but deep down inside you know you want the real thing, and selling yourself short for buying a dupe/fake
100% right. And at the end you pay/ buy twice
I don’t now why. But Never before like Michel kors

IMO dupes are ok because they were never made close to the original usually and don’t have a brand label on it but replicas that have the brand names and even box authenticity card dust bags etc is not ok. Like not everyone had thousands to spend on a bag, I get that and when you want a certain look. Sometimes I would buy things because they look nice and don’t even realise it’s a dupe because it is so common nowadays. With replicas I don’t buy the argument of them wanting to try it before they get the real thing. Most of them don’t and they have a whole collection of replicas and yet call it as the brand instead. If you want to try it get a dupe then. It makes more sense to try something that looks similar but a lot cheaper than say pay hundreds of dollars often for well made replicas if you are going to buy the real thing. Don’t get a replica and pass it off as if you spend thousands when you are ripping off not just the design but the brand label
Thank you. Yes most not fashion/ handbagaddicted persons don’t now what they wearing. I also saw a site with dupes wich look very similar to the original and I had to guess wich Brand this should be.

Hey guys
What do you think about dupes, doesn’t matter wich designer brand.

Do you think this is ok to buy one just for trying if this purse is „yours“ and fit in your lifestyle or is this a no go.
The most dupes are so similar (in my eyes just the brands name is missing) and in my eyes everybody know what purse it is. But also it’s not a knockoff. Very very hard for my decision.

Interesting about your honestly opinion.
I personally won't spend money on dupes.

You can try a bag in the store several times ,take photos , think and search about it and go and try it again until you decide.
No rush when you wanna but an expensive purchase.

ya to me is either buy real or dun buy at all. i rather buy a brandless bag or cheaper brands like coach or kate spade than to carry fake high end designer bag and carry around like it is the real thing. 1) i like to buy fresh from boutique and that is the purpose of the whole thing- it makes me happy that i have gotten something new and real of course. 2) it feels awkward carrying a fake bag around. Yes, people may not know but i do not like the feeling of carrying a fake, it lowers my self esteem and i do not feel happy at all. 3) i will not know how to answer if my friend question me like - wow you got a chanel bag! so rich.. how much you bought it?

I’m glad this thread was started as I like to see all of your opinions. I think if you’re buying a dupe that’s not claiming to be the real deal, it’s ok. There’s definitely a difference in quality and details. I have both designer items and dupes from all different types of stores. DSW, Aldo, Steve Madden etc.

I’d like to know your thoughts on my most recent dupe. I own these 2 CHANEL Deauvilles. I also wanted a lighter colored one but I just can’t spend another 2400. I found these that you can customize. It’s the same style but you can definitely tell it’s not the same quality. I really like the way it came out. Since it’s a lighter color, it would probably get dirty and I wouldn’t have to be as afraid to use it as it was way less than my other Deauvilles. 7163E245-10EB-42DF-B03C-3EC83E5C83EE.jpgIMG_5550.JPG
