Same thing, I love my basics but this is just so elegant. Like you, I'm a large bag person as well (large borough, 37 Swagger, 36 Rogue, you name it), so my SA was really surprised when I picked the tea rose saddle today. For its size, it really houses all my essentials perfectly, so came home with me today. The dinky I like as well, but I love how the flowers are distributed on the backside of the saddle; it's just the right thickness for my belongings too. Got the last one at my local store! ;)

I think my SA would be shocked if I got this. Just a little torqued that they upped the price $100. I have a hard time spending $600 on a dinky bag, as beautiful as it is.

I'm afraid to go to my store. If I see it in person, I'm doomed. Hard part will be deciding between the two colors.

I think you should go see it in person to put your mind at rest! I originally liked the chalk one based on the pictures, but after looking at it in the store I found I like the black one better; the iridescent flowers are really nice. After I thought the dinky is not really practical, then out came the saddle tea rose, which I found work with my needs better. You'll always be surprised when you actually see these bags in person! I think I may put my bank account to the shock one more time for two Rogues, that I really want to check out-kind of annoying that you can't get them readily in stores, but oh well...

I called my store and they don't have either. She said she could order one for me. I want to see both so I can compare but then I'd have to order both which I don't want to do. Is the saddle one you got the one with the purple and blue flowers or the newer burgundyish one with old brass hardware?

I got the burgundy one with old brass hardware! It's really hard to say what individual person will like, and without seeing it in person. Since your store said they can order one, maybe you can order the other one so they can compare? The manager at my FP didn't seem very happy about my string of returns, but I don't care-what else is there to do when there's no stock at most of the boutiques? I would have been happy if a customer went through all the trouble to figure out which one she likes; since most of them were brought back the day of or on the next, there's no chance I could have used any of it. The wrappings were also left on, so they could easily resell to the next person. These bags are not cheap!

Has anyone seen the new exotic tea rose dinky with Python? I so wish my store would get these in. I want to see the different colors and the dinky vs the saddle bag.

I see that Nordstrom got the saddle bag with appliqué flowers. Are these special 1941 bags supposed to be in other stores?

I thought I had responded to you but as I was going through this thread I realized I hadn't. Oops. Well anyway, thanks for responding. I want to avoid a bunch of returns even though my SA said its no problem if I order one and don't want it. It's just that now things are more complicated. Not only am I interested in the tea rose dinky in chalk or black, I'm reconsidering the saddle bag like you got or the new exotic dinky with Python. I certainly can't order four bags just so I can compare and choose. Lol. But yikes, at these prices I want to make sure I choose the right one if any!

I love the looks of the black with burgundy...do you find it goes with a lot?

Yup! I haven't tried it out with a whole bunch of outfits, but so far the bag seems to go with everything. Good luck with your decision! Let's just say I have returned more than 4 bags recently...lol
