As a mum of 3, when my kids are with me (more often than not), I would need to ALWAYS carry my tote no matter what time of the day it is.

You mean like feeling the Neverfull brush past you ten times a day on the bus/train or having to duck out of the way at small intimate restaurants because of the bowling bag on someone's shoulder? Because I truly do feel like I'm in danger in those situations.
Is the double bag becoming a thing? I’ll feel stylish when I carry my tote and lunchbox to work. Was reading this thread and then I saw this interesting fashion choice by Paris Hilton at "Diddy's" 50th bday party. She has a clutch and what appears to be a hobo bag on her shoulder?Am I seeing things?

I wonder why she even bothers to carry the clutch! Maybe to let the people know that she has enough style to carry a clutch. Was reading this thread and then I saw this interesting fashion choice by Paris Hilton at "Diddy's" 50th bday party. ...I always find it strange to see women carrying a Neverfull at a restaurant in the evening, for example. I feel so strongly about this that I will plan ahead if I’m planning on meeting up for after work dinner/drinks and carry a smaller purse/clutch in my larger tote and switch; use a smaller satchel or shoulder bag (not a tote) that day for work; or utilize the detachable pouch that came with my Mansur Gavriel tote. It just strikes me as somewhat of a fashion faux pas to wear a large tote like that to dinner or to a theater performance, other evening event, etc.
I always have a water bottle with me, so I almost always carry a tote or larger bag (speedy or Goyard artois for example) no matter what. I have many cute small bags but can’t figure out how to use them and carry my water.
it is a real shame that we have become so casual that many people never dress ‘up’ or carry clutches for that matter. On the other hand it’s a positive thing that we’ve moved into a less rigid and more inclusive society.
Personally I love seeing people dress up and carry smart little bags, but some people do go out straight from work (including me so little choice when that happens) I think it’s a missed opportunity when people are permanently ‘casual’
