I am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience... I have a Tiffany T square cuff (sterling) and took it into a T store to be cleaned for the first time. I dropped it off and when I returned they pulled it out to give back to me, and to my surprise it was covered in very small, fine pore-like dots! The entire surface now has a faint bumpy texture.

I asked the sales person why this happened and she replied that is "normal" for jewelry to look this way after being cleaned "in the tumbler". I thought it would be cleaned with a cloth, I was unaware that they used a machine, and if I had known this was going to happen I would have never had them clean it.

She suggested that I leave it a while longer, that sometimes it needs a little more time in the tumbler and that it may smooth out. When I returned for the second time, the bracelet looked the same (textured). This time a different associate helped me and acted like she had no idea what I was talking about! She was basically like, when silver isn't new anymore it shows wear.... Of course I understand this, BUT when I brought it in, aside form some wear marks (hairline scratches etc.) and dullness it was still had a smooth, glass like finish :(

I'm not quite sure what to do, I left and I'm now back home (was in town for a wedding - I live about 5 hours form the nearest T&Co. store). I emailed customer service and they advised me to go into a store. After replying with my situation and uploading photos I am not getting a response. Any advice?

I'd love to ask them -
Do they have an actual jeweler there preforming the tasks or are the SA going in the back and trying to service the pieces?
Are they loading more than one piece at a time?

I am extremely curious because an actual jeweler wouldn't have let that piece leave the store looking like that .They would've buffed it smooth and polished it to perfection . I'm wondering if they are training SA to service the jewelry or if they employ an actual jeweler at this location.

That's not normal, when you got it back you should have asked for a manager.
You are right I should have... to be honest, with the way they were acting I was very intimidated. I have some anxiety and hate confrontation. They acted like me asking was annoying. Which I don’t get- I was extremely polite, even bought a pair of sunglasses while I was waiting. But the second they could tell I wasn’t pleased, the atmosphere turned very cold :( After the second “cleaning” I just left.

I have no idea. The thing that made me the most frustrated is that the first CSR I talked to saw what I was referring to, I think she knew it wasn't ok, and tried to help. But when I went to pick up the second time, they were downright rude to me. I have no idea if anyone I spoke with was the manager at that particular store. I will call CS today.

I just got off the phone and she said someone from the store will call me back regarding the case that was created. I hope it is a manager that will call me back. Trying to not be uneasy over the whole thing. I know it is only the sterling version of the cuff, but I'm still so bummed out :(

Here are some photos, showing the "texture".
So sorry your bracelet has been damaged. Silver is a relatively soft metal and must be treated gently (think of all those English butlers in movies who carefully polish silver). It should NEVER be tumbled (whatever that is - I hate to think). The pock marks look to me like it was placed in some sort of acid solution - also a no,no with silver. Totally incompetent job. The person should be fired, and you should get a new bracelet, no questions asked. Unacceptable from a company with a long history in the silver business.
I hope you get complete satisfaction soon.

Agree. Based on Tiffany's customer service standard which always holding high, they should give you a brand new bracelet for replacement of your current. Not sure what you will get further response, but I believe you will get a new one.

I took my Tiffany T wire bracelet in WG to be polished with a cloth in store. It had some minor scrathes. They did the polishing in the store and when they came back with my bracelet it was clearly yellow in some areas. With the polishing they took the rhodium off. Then they sent the bracelet to New York for rhodium plating for free. When I came to pick up my bracelet, it was not the same. The edges of the T part of the bracelet were not sharp and square anymore. I noticed this when I came home. I came back a few days later and they gave me a new bracelet! You should go back to the store and ask for a new bracelet!
