Swarovski have many different designs and they also provide cheaper lines (Oliver Weber) with their rhinestones. Since I live in the home country of Swarovski the jewelry is reasonably priced, the quality is good, the service too (the large crystal of my 4 year old ring became loose and they glued it on for free) and you have lots of nice designs to chose from. Daniel Swarovski (their couture line) is another thing though, I'd never buy faux-jewelry for a couple hundreds or even thousands of Euros when you can already buy real jewels with that money. But if you have the chance to check out the large new Swarovski in Vienna I'd do it. Lot's of affordable bling

I really regret not getting to see the Swarovski "mother ship" in Vienna the last time I was there. :crybaby:

I have some great Swarovski pieces, and people who aren't that well-versed in jewelry always think they're real & are surprised when I tell them. My friends who know a lot about jewelry recognize it for what it is, but they also agree that it's high quality. Even some SAs who've seen it have commented on the high quality of Swarovski.

DH doesn't like to buy me pricey jewelry (he's too afraid I won't like something he spent $$$$ on) but he occasionally picks up a piece of Swarovski for me. It's nice to have a mix of pieces in my collection.

I like some swarovski pieces and don't think they are tacky. I am fairly simple when it comes to jewelery though, so I would not wear the bigger pieces. But thats just me.

I have two beautiful Swarovski pieces, one from my mother, and another from my uncle from a few months ago. :) I love both and they do not look tacky at all. I'm looking into the Lychee Red Coin Purse right now~

I don't see Swarovski jewelry as tacky. It's nice costume jewelry! Someone who doesn't know jewelry may very well mistake their more conservative pieces as mined gemstones, but fooling jewelers would be much easier using off-white cubic zirconia.

My girlfriend bought me two small galet pendants, one in "citrine" and one in "ruby." I wear them together at different lengths sometimes so that they touch as I move. I love them! Their larger pieces are not my favorite but the nirvana ring is gorgeous, and looks beautiful on the hand.

It's not a good investment. And it's basically toxic (leaded) glass. Poison has never been so beautiful.

^^Really no jewelry is good as an investment. For an investment, buy stocks and bonds IMO.

DH got me a cute pair of earrings from Swarovski recently, and I lost one within 2 weeks of getting them. :crybaby:

I have quite a few swarovski pieces that are realy just wonderful for nights out with the girls when I want something a bit more 'fun' kwim? Not that my other pieces aren't fun, just I would consider some of the swarovski pieces that I have as as 'party pieces' which is what I bought them for :)

I used to buy a piece every month or so for a year, including a watch.

I have lots of ranting now about this watch:
the date is completely screwed up. Initially after I set the date, the next day, it was 1 day behind. At first I didn't bother and thought that I'd just bring it to their customer service to have it exchanged or reprogrammed, and in the meantime I tried all sorts of ways of readjusting the date. Fine, a month later, the original SA who sold me the watch refused to exchange it for me, despite the fact that she ADMITTED she had the SAME date issue and she KNEW about this date problem even BEFORE selling me the watch!!! I was pissed but stayed in control... she offered to have the watch "reprogrammed" by their manager who will set forward the date.
2 weeks later, I pick up my watch and the date appears to be fixed. However a week later, the same date issue continued. Then a brought it back a SECOND time to have the date "reprogrammed." Now after >1 yr since the original purchase, my watch is 3 DAYS BEHIND and the crystals are all scratched and chipped!

Quality? Customer service? I don't think so. Actually, isn't that SA's way of sales considered to be robbery?!?!? it's absolute fraud!

Since then I've stopped purchasing Swarovski pieces.

I still like some of their rings, but that's about it.

Oh and this is the watch:

I'm not a fan of swarovski, I feel bad saying that but so much of it looks like cheap costume jewelry. That being said, there are always uniquely beautiful pieces but in general I wouldn't be investing a lot in their brand.
