Initial thoughts:
- I do understand why people feel this canvas is "plasticky". To me, canvas is canvas, so it's not necessarily plasticky to me but it's....smoother?
- Like most others' mini pochettes, mine also has a gap at the end of the zipper. I would have never noticed this if I hadn't read about it here, so it doesn't bother me.
- The lining bunching is another "issue" I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't read about it here, so it also doesn't bother me. I actually think my lining is sewn and fits decently.
- My pastel pochette is not any bigger than my mono mini pochette from 2007. In fact, my mono mini pochette fits more because of the lack of free moving lining

- I love this next to the Epi Seaside colour and tried using the strap with the mini pochette. It won't fit my phone with a Popsocket Otterbox case, so I will unlikely wear it this way but if I want to carry just my wallet and a lipstick, this would be pretty cute. (Yes it is 2 PM and I am STILL in my PJ's working from home LOL)

@lovecouture

You asked if I think it’s worth the markup. IMO to me mini Pochettes already aren’t worth $405. I got mine when they were $215 but that was 13 years ago. So you’ll have to decide if the markup on top of a pricey accessory is worth it to you.
Am I happy to own it? Yes.
Am I considering returning? Possibly, because I am questioning whether I really have use for 2 mini Pochette.
Could I have spent my $655 elsewhere? Most definitely!
It’s is perfection with the strap. Very very pretty. Now I don’t like that it holds less because of the new lining. I’m still stalking and would like to test it out for my self. And FYI, I wear PJs if I’m at home, no matter what time it is!

In my photos the things that fit in my mono mini pochette still fit in the pastel, it just takes a bit of maneuvering to get everything to not cause the mini pochette to bulge. Just ballpark I'd estimate a 5% reduction in capacity so it's not significant :) The scientist in me really wants to put a plastic bag inside each pochette, fill with water and see what the difference in volume is....

I still can't fit my phone into my mono mini pochette. The loss of space is really the bottom of the mini pochette. On the mono mini, I can put my lip brush and nail clipper at the very bottom "dip" created by the inner seams and then other things can sit directly on top. With the added lining, this space from the "dip" is gone.

Well, I did it. And I'm wrong, it's not just a 5% reduction in capacity.

I placed a sandwich bag into the mono mini pochette and filled it with water to the point where I can push the 2 top edges together without water getting pushed out past the zipper line. I wasn't going to try to zip it up and risk the plastic getting caught on the zipper so there will be some error.

438 g of water can fit in the mono mini pochette (or roughly 438 cc or mL - just going to assume the baggie weight is negligible)

348 g of water can fit in the pastel mini pochette (or roughly 348 cc or mL)

That's nearly 20.6% reduction in capacity from the mono to the pastel.

I took out the baggie with water from the pastel mini pochette and placed it into the mono one. You can see the water line doesn't even come close to zipper!

Just for comparison, based on the website dimensions of 15.5 cm x 10.5 cm x 4.0 cm, the capacity based on exterior dimensions should be 651 cc or mL. but it's not a perfect rectangular prism so you get some reduction when we're talking actual capacity.

Hey, that’s almost a 100g different. That is quite significant given it’s almost 25%

maybe with time, it will soften and have some more “give” unlike most, I don’t mind overstuffing my mini PAs, I rather stretch them out a bit then keeping them tight.

The lining doesn't have much give so I don't know if it'll stretch out over time. Either way, it fits what I usually put in my mini pochette, so it's not an issue for me. I avoid overstuffing because I don't want to put odd points of stress on the canvas.

I love your scientific method! Fantastic. I still don’t know how I feel about the lining of the neverfull.

love it, it looks great with your jammies :P I have one, love it, and yes it’s overpriced for sure. However just wanted a piece of this lovely color wash. I have left a fuzzy sock inside mine and stuffed it that way. It pushed the lining against the canvas and the pochette opened up more and looks great. It holds just as much as my other mp. It was worth it as a treat right now for me, especially as I didn’t want to pay the $400+ over regular speedy or NF giant mark up right now. I have so many lovely bags that are simply going from room to couch and downstairs and back right now. AND as we all know, more lovelies will come soon  so I’m saving my pennies for future bags at the moment! I’m just glad they made so many of these available for people this launch vs last summer’s. Everyone enjoy their bright and sunny pops of color!

Too funny and I’m a big proponent of the scientific method!! After stuffing mine with a sock that smoothed the liner and opened the map a bit, it seems very similar to my other mp now. Since I use them for small things, this size works well for me. I always have a large phone so that was never going to be a one bag carry piece anyway. Kudos to your work!

How do you like it ? I have the neverful and I’m thinking of getting the zippy to go with it.
I LOVE IT! It would look fantastic with your neverfull! I am historically a small bag and small wallet person, this is my first zippy long wallet. I started wearing slightly larger shoulder bags lately. I really love that I can fit so much in this wallet. Fits my iPhone XS with case and passport too (a tight squeeze but still fits!). The zipper is so smooth and I feel that my things are very secure. I just received the wallet today so I have been staring at it all day :)

I’m glad you guys enjoyed my scientific method :graucho:

@DrTr I think I’m going to stuff mine with paper to get those three little dents in the canvas out. We’ll see how the capacity differs after.

I love your scientific method! Fantastic. I still don’t know how I feel about the lining of the neverfull.

@karman I love that you did this further study !! it is so interesting the differences they employ in what should be the same piece but different coloring. Very cool, thanks for showing.
