Suggestions for bag strong enough for a gun, big wad of cash and overnight clothing.

I am dedicated to the idea that she is a spy, possibly a double agent, the head of a drug cartel or a high stakes gambler. I would also like to put her in the late 1960's, perhaps British.
Dark hair, dark eyes, questionable teeth.

Let's not consider that she might be a security guard or a very frustrated grade school teacher.

 You are very clever! Picturing you as a TV drama series writer.

I love the Tumi bags.

Coach The Borough is a wonderful bag at a wonderful price. It is elegant and chic and popular among celebrities. I own a medium one.

I may own SC one day but never SDJ. SDJ is too heavy for me but I think it will serve her well.

Good to know there are a few of you who like this bag. Thanks!

When you said compartments I also immediately thought of the Borough, though I'm not sure it would be large enough as an "overnight" bag, I guess it would depend on the necessities.

The Tatum is pretty awesome too!

Great suggestions. Thank you!

Had to click on this thread because of the title! I'm not sure how big a full bank bag is but here's another suggestion:

This could work too. Thank you!

I would recommend a black leather "man bag" from Cole Haan. I bought my DH a vintage one in brown leather and it has performed admirably. It easily conforms to conceal and carry with sufficient organization to ensure proper gun etiquette/safety.

Sounds good. That's a nice sentence.

I love many of Sissi Ross's giant shoulder bags. Someone else loves this large, simple zip bag. Seems to have some limited compartments, and it's black. Heavier than our Bals but almost as cool IMO.

Edit: Eeep! This bag is not easily available. Any of Sissi Ross's large washed leather bags would serve the purpose, I think.

I'm imagining your exciting mystery woman to be like Homeland's Carrie Mathison.. Her bag may need to take a beating!

I like the idea of washed leather...and even more the idea of Carrie. She could stand to up the cool factor of her bag.

I don't have any suggestion.... but this thread is very entertainining!

I hoped it would be. Thanks for adding to that.

I love the Tumi bags.

It would be great to do that. We need more real women writing and representing real women.

Unfortunately I don't have any suggestions, but I just wanted to say that this may be the most eye-catching thread title I've ever seen on tpf!

Was hoping to get some attention....and it worked! But also, it's true.

THESE ARE GREAT. I don't think a women like this cares about brand name. Let's keep the undercover storyline about her and in that case.....undercover bags make sense.

No problem, happy to put my cents in :D - would love to hear what your friend ends up getting and his friend's reaction!

All this stuff about purses for guns reminded me of the Faure le page thread and their 'gun pouch' -

can it actually hold guns? as someone who has never even touched a gun I have no idea :p

Sidenote: attractive purses for guns...an untapped market??

So you thread caught my eye. I decided to google purses to hold guns. I don't know anything about this site but I liked this purse. Scroll down to see the compartment for the gun.

This is pretty cool and the price is great. I like the red one. (somehow this got into your quote)

Great thread. Thanks. And yes...an untapped market for sure.

the coach borough is a great bag. the large is the same as weekender and I think the black pebbled might be at outlet already. it was on last delete list. but this is already a heavy bag. a gun is not exactly light also and that with wads of cash and a change of clothes. I don't know if that might be too heavy.

trust me, even the medium borough with just a gun inside is heavy.

I would look at the coach men's urbane commuter. really gorgeous bag. it's a lot bigger in person than on web.

a lot of the coach men's collection is quite nice.

a leather bag is going to be heavy no matter what tho. she'll definitely need something with sturdy handles and straps.

*best tpf thread ever!

My mom has a really pretty leather bag she uses when she goes out shooting sporting clays. But I'm pretty sure she just got it from a leather artisan and that it's not a designer bag of any sort. Maybe those types of places would be where to look?

Oh and as for the woman's back story my guess was far less exciting, my mind immediately jumped to thinking that she's probably a small business owner who has to carry cash between several locations & lives in a concealed carry state, haha

Balenciaga made a bag called the Weekend (no, not the Weekender), which was just a tad smaller than the Weekender, but much more sturdy with a nice wide strap. The only problem is that they are harder than hen's teeth to find because they were only made for 1 Year/Season. However, I have sometimes seen them on eBay or Asian websites.

This isn't the style that I was talking about; I believe it might be the Men's Weekender? .. https://www.tradesy.com/bags/balenc...6&cadevice=c&gclid=cj2-mzbnt8ecfqcpaqodmnsa7q

Oh yeah .. since I typically carry a lot of stuff when I travel (and since you can't have your handbag and another carry-on bag), I use the Longchamp bag. They make them in leather now, with longer handles and a shoulder (or cross-body) strap.

Unassuming .. if that is what she is going for.

I wonder if she is a Gem Dealer/Carrier? I had a friend who did this and she used to carry what you've mentioned.

If I was this woman (in my dreams, lol), I would want the bag to have a zippered compartment for the cash, and an open compartment for easy access to the gun. Maybe something like the Saint Laurent duffle?

While we're playing the guessing game, my mind went from spy to armored truck driver (which wouldn't explain the need for change of clothes) and finally settled on private security for a celeb, probably a rapper.

I wish this was for me, but I am not even close to being this cool.

I was asked by a male friend to help pick out a bag for “someone special”. This bag is for a woman.

Here are the requirements:

- medium to large
- shoulder bag
- multiple compartments
- utilitarian while being feminine
- black leather
- able to handle weight
She handles large quantities of cash (full bank bags) and packs a gun
- strong (as in the straps are attached securely)
- durable (secure stitching and regular to thick leather)
- quality lining
- also double as an overnight bag
- price: under 1,000. But he was looking at Coach so probably really under
600.00 would be ideal.

Now, I don’t know who this woman is or what she is up to……….......................
but I think I want her life.

In his words: Could also double as an overnight bag, so could hold a full bank bag, a pistol and a pair of panties ; )

Any and all suggestions would be very welcome. Thank you. This is the only real place to come with this kind of question.

Forgot to mention...it needs to look cool. Maybe on the plain side...no logos, nice leather.

maxx - I don't know if your friend ever got the bag, but I just ordered it. It's been on my mind since last year.
Just went to check, and while they no longer have the beige one, they did have this which I love just as much.
Plus the sale price is awesome. There was no way I wasn't getting it!
