You've got a good point. I will look these up and send him pics and prices.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm such a Bal fanatic, I have to look up other bags....geez .

Coach The Borough is a wonderful bag at a wonderful price. It is elegant and chic and popular among celebrities. I own a medium one.

I may own SC one day but never SDJ. SDJ is too heavy for me but I think it will serve her well.

THESE ARE GREAT. I don't think a women like this cares about brand name. Let's keep the undercover storyline about her and in that case.....undercover bags make sense.

You might want to ask the guy how this woman carries her firearm:
Does she plan to carry it inside bag? If so, will it be in a holster?
Does she want firearm easily accessible when wearing bag?
How heavy is the gun, when fully loaded, & how long is barrel?

The answers may narrow choices.

Sorry, but I must say it, just in case--leaving any bag unattended, with a loaded gun inside, is stupid dangerous.

Yes...that would be stupid dangerous. I will copy this and text him. Good questions. I might leave out the stupid part.

Also.....do they really make bags with such specific gun compartments? I don't think so.

Yes, there are handbags with gun compartments.
I'm afraid they won't be gucci or hermes--search magazines as "guns and ammo" or @ gun shows.
But, they may not be as large as your friend wants.

Having carried a gun myself: look at gun shows/ shops. There are bags with built in holsters that keep the gun separate from the purse part of the bag. With practice, the gun is quickly accessable. Moneybags and personal items wouldn't get tangled up, and the gun won't accidentally be exposed. The bag might not be beautiful, but if you're carrying a gun it should be safety first.

Let's forget about the gun for a minute and get back to the nifty bags you all are suggesting. I can't tell how she is sticking a gun or anything else in the bag but the suggestions so far are really great for a strong ,sturdy bag with some compartments.

I have a feeling you have a gun, or several. So not only am I going to take what you say very seriously and look into these magazines....or have him do that, but I'm also going to be really nice to you.

(I'm always joking around so please don't take me too seriously)

But thank you for this great info. I have a Ruger but I never carry it. Now that I know about these bags I might get one for when I go to the range. Which is once every 5 years. I'm a bad gun owner.

I think carrying a gun free range in a bag seems weird so these suggestions are great. I will pass this on.

I would recommend a black leather "man bag" from Cole Haan. I bought my DH a vintage one in brown leather and it has performed admirably. It easily conforms to conceal and carry with sufficient organization to ensure proper gun etiquette/safety.

Looked on their site but couldn't find this. Do you know the name of this bag?

It's called the Bashord Leather Duffel. It's on their site under "Travel" then "Duffels".

I sent you a pm with the links.

If I hadn't OD on bags, this one in beige would be on my short list.

I love many of Sissi Ross's giant shoulder bags. Someone else loves this large, simple zip bag. Seems to have some limited compartments, and it's black. Heavier than our Bals but almost as cool IMO.

Edit: Eeep! This bag is not easily available. Any of Sissi Ross's large washed leather bags would serve the purpose, I think.

I'm imagining your exciting mystery woman to be like Homeland's Carrie Mathison.. Her bag may need to take a beating!
