I have a Coach one from a few years ago which is cute, IMO. It's been very durable & is trimmed w/ leather. I personally like the straw bag, but only if it is going to hold up. I have a staw bag that I got free & use it for my kids' pool stuff, but it's a bang around bag, so it is starting to fray....

I don't have one. I did have one when I was a little girl and I just loved it. I had these little pins that where the pinhead was a lady bug. I would attach them through the webbing onto my straw bag and it really was cute. I'd kind of like to get one for summer but I wouldn't want to pay too much as they aren't the most durable. However, I have seen a couple of cute ones at TJM made by Cole Haan that were very nice.

I saw a lady with a YSL Downtown in staw - it looked very chic, but very very casual. So that would limit its use. But it still looked nice ... and I would definately use it ... if I had one ... say, as a gift. :smile1:

I don't like straw bags. Maybe for the beach or picnic but I really don't get the look of carrying a straw bag as an everyday bag theres just something off about it. Plus I have never seen one that looks really good. One time I was at Saks or something and I saw a Kate Spade straw bag that was a display and it was on sale and it seriously looked beat up so I'm thinking maybe they won't last as much as a leather purse?

they're not hot, but they are CUTE and casual. And of course, i only use them during spring and summer to match a day dress. I have a non-brand orange straw bag that I picked up from TJM for $13 and I literally get compliments every time i use it. I do think straw bags are not as durable (since my handle is falling as I type!) but i think it's just wonderful to accent a summer time outfit.

I'm in the market for a straw bag myself, hoping to find a branded and durable one, but so far i havent found anything really cute. Please let me know if anyone comes across some cute straw bags! :tup:

Sorry to dig up an old post, but I never liked straw bags until recently, now i'm hooked. they are the perfect summer accessory.
Here is a picnic style handbag made by PixieMarket that I added two Hermes twilly's and a Hermes rodeo bag charm to spruce it up..

and this new one is by designer Heimat-Atlantica. Just got it on pre-order, it will be here soon. It's a reed bag made in Portugal and has these "magic" talismans to bring love and happiness. They come in an assortment of colors, this one I got is red "Amor"
