And oh I just discovered something. I was checking bvlgari site to see if there’s a price hike (people are talking about Cartier price increase now). I didn’t know they price yellow gold and rose gold differently, unlike Cartier which is the same for both.

I just checked their website and I see exactly same prices for rose gold and yellow gold. Was it a specific item that you noticed? Because maybe you just compared different sizes of pave serpenti and thought it’s because of gold color.

It is my bad. Actually it was because of size difference lol. I didn’t notice that earlier.

I definitely have considered it! I think a Love in any form would never go wrong. It will be a “clean” stack, with the little sparkle and easy remove option. But so far I have yet to try the cuff. Do you have one?
I don’t have the cuff but I do have the regular LOVE and regular JUC bracelets.

I currently have my eye on the Clash SM bracelet and matching ring but have not had the chance to try them on yet.

I thought the cuff would be a great option for you because I know you are a fan of the LOVE line and it is easily removable.

I love wearing my regular LOVE bracelet but if I were just starting my jewellery collection now, I’d probably buy the cuff if I was into stacking (not the full bracelet). Mainly because of the screws getting loose issue that tends to happen with stacking. As of now, I wear my bracelets solo (one on each wrist). I feel like it allows each piece to really shine on its own (also because my bracelets are both 17 and the JUC loves crossing over the top of my LOVE). I do love seeing other people’s stacks though!

Take your time with deciding your next piece - I feel like your heart wants the Serpenti! It’s gorgeous but the price makes my eyes water. If you get it (the full pave), please wear it everyday. It shouldn’t be reserved for special occasions only (think of cost per wear) :)

I feel like you really know me

For the first few months, my love screws did loosen, with or without stacking. 1.5years on, they don’t anymore even with stacking. They kinda “seasoned” and don’t budge now.

I haven’t got the chance to make a trip to all the stores and try all the items (again) that I shortlisted. Luckily Cartier, Bvlgari, Chaumet, Tiffany, VCA, Hermes (not that I have my eye on all of them) are neighbours along the same shopping strip.

That Serpenti makes me relate to this quote.

I’m so glad your LOVE screws are behaving themselves! That’s why I wouldn’t be keen to buy a full LOVE bracelet now. I got mine in December 2011 and the screws have not budged the entire time I’ve had it on my wrist (which I am super grateful for) - I check them every few days but so far, so good.

It just makes me wonder what is being done differently when they produce the LOVE bracelet now that the screws don’t seem as strong and keep getting loose (even without stacking) on a brand new piece. These are not cheap either! The cuff seems like a safer option and you can stack as much as you want with no screw issues :)

I hope you enjoy your shopping trip/s trying on all your shortlisted pieces!

Another thing to consider is how often you plan to wear this new addition. Are you going to wear this everyday or only on certain occasions?

Side note: Love love love your SM pave LOVE

IF I do get that sinful Serpenti, I promise I will wear it everyday till it dissipates lol.

Thank you. And hope you’ll get to try the clash someday soon (the price hike is on!).

In that case, I think you should get the Serpenti :graucho:

Another argument for buying the Serpenti: if this is your holy grail bracelet and you do not think you will buy anymore bracelets going forward, I think it is worth the splurge.

I have a few bracelets on my wishlist (Clash SM, VCA Signature Perlee & VCA Perlee pearls of gold) but I know deep down I don’t need them all. For me to be at bracelet peace, I just want the Clash SM :giggle:

All this talk about a price increase for Cartier is making me consider pulling the trigger but I feel so guilty! I need a money tree in the backyard

You’re right as we only have these many arms. I generally do not like to keep jewelry unworn (except for rings and watches that are fun and “easy” to switch around). For wrist, I am all in for staple. For that reason, it ultimately gotta stop somewhere. And with that, the final contenders are the Serpenti and BML (let’s say we unsee the price for now). As much as I really like Clash, to me it comes after the both of them.

To quote and unquote, in that case, I think you should get the Clash
:graucho:

Don't kill me, but I'm really not feeling the Serpenti at all. A serpent on my wrist scares me more than any screw, nail, or other hardware on my wrist. I'm not a superstitious person, but I certainly don't like the metaphor.

Design-wise I think it's edgy. But other than that, I wonder going into later decades for you: 40s, 50s, 60s. Would you continue to like this piece. Or wish you'd spent the money somewhere else.

Again, don't kill me. It took me a long time to voice my opinion. I mean your purchase is ultimately your choice. I'm just giving you a different perspective.

It’s interesting to read different perspective; others’ evaluation process. That’s why I do follow the “unpopular opinions” in the jewelry thread lol.

I personally think if I were into jewelry in my 30s, the Serpenti would not appeal to me. In a flash, I am now 50. I think I can carry it. That’s how I see the Serpenti (if I were to go there on the age-appeal thing).

I believe in some culture, serpent is seen as evil, treachery. I can understand why. On the other hand, in Chinese mythology, snake is symboled as luck and authority. I belong to another animal symbol; and when both come together, they are considered a complementary pair (in real life, it absolutely seems so for me). But, I don’t really think too much into this haha.

On contrary, I’m “worried” how a BML will look on me when I am 60!!

Thank you for keeping an open mind.

I would never tell you're 50 based on your modeling pics. You have very beautiful, youthful hands. I thought you were in your 30s. TBH all the pieces look good on you aesthetically. So it's really a matter of choice.

Yes, if you've given it plenty of thought and the Serpenti really appeals to you, then I think you're ready.

I’m totally flattered. I’m thankful for the natural humidifier of mostly 80% humidity (right now 90% due to rainy season!) my country has all year round.

Thank you
