Thanks @Angelian.
I just don’t get these 50/50 scarves. I, for one, really don’t think it’s a “rencontre heureuse” ( a “successful/happy encounter”) at all. Looks like they’ve sawn together off cuts of faulty scarves. I bet we’ll soon see one of these made from bits of all the recalled C’est La Fete.
Agree with you, I don’t get it either. Hopefully as more designs emerge there’ll be something in it for us.

(and when I say “gift” I mean I will buy it in the name of a gift but more than likely wear it myself too :P)
Yes, DH & I "share" several of the men's scarfs too. Now he just laughs and says "oh, yes, another share scarf" to get the "cost per use" down, ____. But the reality is 1) As a North American male he is not really comfortable wearing scarfs as an accessory such as Euro guys are, and 2) He runs "hot" at the best of times and thus overheats with his neck wrapped. Alas, more fun for me.....

Thanks @Angelian.

I agree, Lostinlondon, and sorry in advance to all who love these mash-ups, but, to me, they just feel like lazy design! And if they're looking for something requiring minimal design output, why not bring back some of the lovely, older patterns that are languishing in their archives? :shrugs:

Thanks @Angelian.

I try to avoid having too many orange scarves in my collection since the color is not flattering on me. But I have been reading rave reviews of the orange colorway of Plumes en Fete. And, recently there was a nice review about how appropriate the spray resembling candy corn in La Source de Pegase made for a great Halloween scarf. But, I won’t purchase two orange scarves. Voila, orange Rencontre Heureuse to the rescue. Two orange scarves in one!

Thanks @Angelian.

@Lostinlondon - maybe A/W collection. A ‘C’est La Fête-enstein’ where there are pieces all sewn jaggedly together with a prominent coloured thread? Perfect for Halloween.

Thank you @Angelian for sharing! I hope we see some interesting CSGM designs this season!

Thank you for posting @Angelian !
I'm not in love with anything which is good because I have a bunch of CSGMs i wanna get from this season still, lol.
Astrologie looks terrible flat but I think it might tie really well - I'd be interested in the other CWs.
I just got a Hermes Galaxy which fulfills my space scarf quota nicely. Plus all four corners of the Space Derby scarf are rather empty, except for the one with the obnoxiously large title, so I don't think it will look that amazing in bias fold.
Rencontre Heureuse and Kaleidoscope just make me sad :-/
Mr. Farrier is very cute and I could be tempted depending on the CW. I'm intrigued by the silk/cotton format? I don't do 140 cm silks, they just don't sit well on me. Wonder how the silk/cotton texture would work...

Cotton silk is awesome as a format. I have a 100 (Ugo G) and a random 140 chain d'ancre design from the men's department several years ago. Easy to tie, casual and doesn't slip around.

For me, personally, I wish ALL the Rencontré Heureuse scarves were halved on the diagonal (like the recent Les Leopards Modernes). That way, you could fold it on the diagonal/as a triangle and truly get the effect of owning two totally different scarves, with none of the other design showing, OR pleat it/fold it on the bias to get the "two in one" look. It seems like they would be more flexible that way, at least the way I knot my scarves.

I wonder if some of the new artists have signed more free copyright contracts than the older ones....I sure wouldn’t be happy seeing some of the older scarves chopped sliced and diced, although new colorways are always welcome ...

Agree. I have Les Leopards and the diagonal is exactly why I love it. Also, it just looks a bit more modern that way.
