Spend threshold for B/K/C

Oh I’m sorry I misunderstood your question, no they’ve always been at least 6 months apart, but the spend was also significantly less between each (typically 2-3x). Hence the ask -whether there are soft rules regarding time between offers, regardless of increased spend. If this is common knowledge then it’s really on me to slow down (and for many other reasons I’ve described). Maybe my current spend is higher than comfort (for me) but not high enough for boutique to skirt any rules they might have about allocation.

I think that is likely the answer.

Well then this was quite helpful, maybe it took bouncing ideas off internet strangers to come to this conclusion (🤗) but this informs my decisions re pacing and approach to these recent bizarre/ aggressive sales behaviors. For my sanity, 50K every quarter just isn’t sustainable long-term.

Does anyone know for a fact whether certain boutiques in the US have a designated/soft “waiting period” ie ~6 months between consecutive QB offers? I’ve been at a relatively small boutique, my parents have a separate acct at Madison with QB offers (ironically also dealing with similar issues) but I’ve never purchased on their acct so my entire history has been at this local boutique. While QBs for me have previously come within an expected prespend range (2-3x) and my SA has been pretty predictable with offers, I’ve been relaxed with spending the past year and have only yesterday realized how much I’ve spent since my last QB (😳🫣) -but of course nary an offer in sight. However, it’s only been 4 months since my last offer. I recognize it hasn’t been long, there are other clients waiting, perhaps it just boils down to the unease I’ve felt the last few months, I think it’s a combination of 1) spending has truly gotten out of hand and 2) in response to this, rather than some effort to curate purchases as I’ve acquired enough over the years for him to get a jist for style/preferences, there’s instead been increased pressuring/pushing of items that clearly don’t work for me, I.e. size is clearly off or is clearly not for my body type. We’re not talking about a difference of opinion - just garments that obviously don’t fit. I guess these these are two separate issues, but I’m just a bit disappointed after 8- 9 years of being a client that the visits are now starting to feel increasingly transactional and if I’m being honest, disappointment that the generous spend hasn’t translated to easier access to bags (I’m not currently after absurdly specific or unicorn bags). Maybe the responsibility lies with me to slow my spending (that seems obvious) and yes I do recognize it’s possible the SM put the kibosh on an offer in close succession to the last and if it’s as simple as that, I can accept it. I guess for the immediate period wondering about whether QB offer are spaced out as a way to start managing my own expectations. I do recognize boutiques vary tremendously in practice but any specific knowledge is greatly appreciated :)
I’ve been told there is no waiting period by my local (US) SA. My FSH SA (who has offered 2QB annually, hasn’t had a problem either, but she said clients who expect QBs at every trip may be disappointed in 2025).

I don’t have an issue saying no to my SA if something doesn’t fit or doesn’t work. If your SA isn’t hearing you, then perhaps this isn’t the right one for you

I think the brand makes up certain "rules" to tell certain clients to try to manage them. We've seen plenty of examples where reputable clients have already maxed out their two quota bags per year for 2025 so if its a thing at all, its clearly only for those they want it to apply to. Take that for what you will. (In my books, that makes it not actually a "rule" but a convenient excuse.)

And that may very well be true, but it’s still helpful to know that the “rules” likely apply to the fair majority. There are always exceptions of course, but it seems (based on my recent experience) that the spend required to exhaust your 2 quotas before the end of the first quarter is likely substantially more than 50K per quarter which may not come as a surprise to some. The shopping without a rule book is definitely one of the bigger challenges of H, so I do personally appreciate rough guidelines, ie in this case- I can continue to spend into oblivion but am unlikely to receive an offer until S/S based on my last offer, even if there are VVIP spenders who are always coloring outside of those lines. I can definitely live with that :)

3x spend and 4 months sounds within the range of normal to me. I usually get offered quota bags anywhere from 3-6 months apart, not necessarily when my prespend hits a certain number. You’re probably close to getting an offer, probably within 1-2 months. I wouldn’t sweat it. And re-reading your original post, it sounds like you also typically get bags 6 months apart. I think your recent spend is throwing you off. But you don’t have to keep spending to get your bag. Just stay in touch but don’t buy anything major…and then you’ll be back to your previous pattern of around 3x and 6 months.

Yes, you’re right- it’s definitely the recent jump in spend throwing me off, a lot more than 3x in a shorter period of time (4 months). Would love to get back to 3x every 6-7 months but the recent sales tactics/shenanigans have me hesitant to continue. I’ve had to say no a lot lately, and this hasn’t been received well (lots of passive aggressiveness). But nothing to do but to slow down and see things through the next few months before I decide if it’s time to make a jump

Big thumbs down to the sales tactics and especially the passive aggressiveness if you say no! Yeah might be time for a switch soon.

THIS!! From my experience is the case.
