You're welcome. As I currently live in Germany, it is also possible that locals are favoured. I've been rejected for mto in my home country Singapore several times now since I've been in Europe. The German store doesn't have much in stock, but I would definitely try to request for mto if I were you! Have fun and a warm welcome to Germany!🙂
Please update us if your special order request goes through. It’s possible that a smaller boutique may just not know that special orders were paused, but hopefully yours is the first one in the world to get in since they were cut off last summer!

I think the smaller boutiques know that the MTOs have been paused. But I think it's really possible in the small stores. My family have been regular Van Cleef customers for over 20 years. I really hope the order is accepted - this will certainly be the first bracelet in this combination anywhere in the world😍
It is actually more likely that you are the first to have SO reopened for you than that VCA has made an exception for making SOs for just a few small boutiques while closing them to the rest of the world and as an official policy. From what I have heard, they will be opening again, perhaps not long in the future, but that they have not opened as of yet. That being said, yours could certainly be the first in the world after the reopening 🥰
I have been making purchases at VCA since 2021, and my spending for the last 2 years has exceeded $85k (I live in Asia) at the same store with my SA. I'm considering adding another 20 motif soon but am thinking of buying from a different maison with another SA whom I recently met. Would this purchase be added to my purchase history for future MTO? Or is the spending quota counted by store? Could anyone advise?
Guidelines may change once MTO and SO reopen, but before the suspension, MTO was total spend across linked boutiques (my SA could see my purchases in Europe, UK, USA - he could not see my department store VCA purchases in the USA even though those department store locations are now run by VCA and he could not see my Asia purchases, though it seems like others may have at least some purchases in Asia on the same viewable history). So for MTO, if nothing changes, purchased within the same region when all boutiques are owned and operated by VCA and most international purchased will could towards your spend.
For SO, it is very heavily weighted towards the boutique set as your home boutique. The total spend still is what is counted, but approval by Paris was weighted on loyalty to your boutique as one factor (can be outweighed by other factors).
It seems that SO criteria will be changing when SO open up again; for MTO I have not heard anything one way or the other.

You are very welcome. If you think you want to stick with MTO, I do believe you will continue to be just fine with your eligibility when MTO opens again even if you buy your 20 motif from another boutique. Regardless, I always choose to shop where I get the most pleasure; so if you like working with the new SA more, I think that is enough justification.
This new SA was helpful in finding my love for this 20 motif I'm thinking of buying. So I'm feeling slightly uneasy about asking my old SA to get a transfer of this necklace since the new SA helped me first. Thank you so much for your advice
I know there is a MTO chart for Alhambra but does anyone know if there is a MTO chart for any other collections? Or does MTO only apply to Alhambra? For example would ordering a Frivole or Two Butterfly in a different metal than currently available be MTO or SO?
I keep seeing an MTO chart reposted, it is a photo that I took of the summary page of the large MTO book almost 10 years ago now. There have been a few changes, and there are a couple of typos in that summary section; however to answer your question Frivole or Two Butterfly in a different metal would be special order, not MTO. Even Alhambra Pave in a different metal is special order, not MTO.
Sure thing. That being said, metal change on pave is usually an easier approval on the spectrum of SOs, but it is still SO.
Does anyone know if they approve SO for vintage pendants? Never seen some...I would love the onyx in rosegold.
