If my memory is correct (and someone please do correct me if wrong), but WG onyx may be a “made to order” rather than a “special order” and therefore does not require any further approval because the combo has been pre-approved for production? The fact that you paid 30% already also means the price was readily available and not subject to HQ quoting. (VCA would not take your money for a piece that they are not going to sell to you.)

Yes, you are 100% correct.

I almost ordered a WG onyx set, and my SA actually pulled up the prices on his computer to show me.
It is MTO (Made To Order), so no approval needed. You are fine; it's just a matter of waiting now.

Onyx and WG used to be an SO, when I bought it. But now they are MTO. As I think the WG hammered are, but don’t quote me.

BigAkoya- Can anyone order WG onyx or do you have to have certain spend to be able to request a made to order piece?

I was still deciding which MOP earring ( magic single vs 2 motif ) and if you recall you were helping me then - TY.
Then thought of onyx RG set ( I wanted to branch out of MOP ) then WGG came.
So I put the RG onyx on hold.
This feels like a 2nd job ! Lol :)

Still a markup, correct, the amount and the ease of approval will vary, most often it is in the 35-45% range if you are in the USA. Just ask your SA and they can share the price and if it is preapproved. Some have mentioned that MTO requires the $85 order history, I think this varies by location and direction of the wind.

TY Nicole - will revisit onyx hopefully soon. Can’t decide if I want onyx rg or onyx wg and hoping to try the New York magic so I can decide ! I’m thinking the onyx WG can blend seamlessly with the WGG … oh my decisions decisions .. this is maddening lol :)

I can identify! I am splitting hairs on a similar decision, but the good news is that either one will be beautiful and easy to wear.
