I was not sure where to post it, but I reckoned it involved a special edition scarf so it ended up here :))))
Last month we had a wonderful meeting with Evgenia Miroshnichenko where she told us the story behind Alphabet Russe and Zabavushka and she also showed this special edition of Zabavushka that Hermes printed for the family of the artist's friend. Only 100 copies of this Zabavushka version were printed and it was named "Zabavushka pour Dimitri" after that friend's baby son. I understand that it was distributed among friends and family but I heard someone spotted it on ebay some time ago.

For some reason, your photos aren't showing up... would you mind reposting so that I might admire them?

You made my day!
Evgenia Miroshnichenko is my favour scarf artist ,[loving her style on this photo] and this is such a wonderful morsel of knowledge. It will add to my appreciation of my Alphabet Russe and Zabavushka scarves.
I know Zaba is based on the Toy Museum in Moscow of that name.
Alphabet has Russian letters formed into fantastical birds and beasts ,is there is more to the story of that one?

Sorry for the late reply, I was gathering some extra info =)
Yes, Zabavushka is a tribute to the Toy Museum in Moscow, you can check out the exhibition here http://www.zabawushka.ru/exposure.html

The birds in Alphabet Russe are mythical birds Stratim, they symbolize good fortune. The funny story about this design is that Russian alphabet actually has 33 letters but only 29 are present on the scarf. The reason for it is that Hermes thought that letters Ш and Щ, Ъ and Ь and И and Й were too much alike and removed them from the design and then the artist also forgot to include the letter Ы =)))))
