Yes LOL. Like air - "stuff" often expands to take up any available space whether absolutely needed or not  In my case, I wear specialty contact lenses in both eyes that require a preservative free solution for insertion/removal that is only available in 2 size bottles - a big and a smaller size though even the small size is a tough fit into a very small bag like the SAD21. I have to keep the solution at ready reach all the time in case I need to remove the lenses if something gets into my eye or something splashes my eye. It's a pain but well worth it for the quality of my vision with the lenses as I am otherwise legally blind without contact lenses ... On the (thankfully for me) rare occasions that I have to wear a suit or otherwise very dressy clothing, I do my best to squeeze it into my SAD21 as I like the look of the smaller bag if I am wearing a suit or otherwise more formal wear (or hand carry one of my small Loewe bags that have a top handle.

The bolittle is a nice fit between the SA21 and the SAD29 for a crossbody narrow HMS bag and has no visible branding at all save for the subtle H design on the leather covered lock so definate "quiet luxury". The Steve Light Messenger junior is also a nice thin crossbody piece but definitely more casual (IMHO) with clear crossbody messenger design/vides. Ditto for the Evelyn - a more casual vide than the SAD.

I also think the Kelly Messenger PM is a good HMS men's bag in this category and i have one of them though it's trapezoidal shape and more than twice the width (approx 4 in at the bottom for the KM vs 1.9 for the SAD) do not wear as well (IMHO) with formal dress though I love the extra space you get in the trapezoid design and use it often. I could also say the same for the Lindy as a wider messenger style bag.

Just some rambling thoughts ....
Thanks! Curious why you think the Kelly messenger doesn’t work well with formal dress? Do you think the Kelly or birkins do?

DH got the new Jaimy boots. For true to size, 43.5. He has flat feet and said they seemed comfy. Wide enough toe box. And the buckles will mainly be hidden by his cargos and other pants. His only hesitation was the height of the lug sole, but our current SA, our old SA (who came up to render an opinion), and I thought the chunkier sole looked right for this style of boot. Ref H242843ZH, 2425 USD. Leather is nice, smooth, pliable, but will still need some break in.
(I have the same pair in both the low and tall versions) but he will get first dibs on when to wear them, so we aren’t twinning lol.

Also my men’s poplin shirt, double collar came back from alteration. (They shortened the sleeves and darted it). Very happy. Size 37, 14.5 neck

ETA: DH had to unbuckle both buckles to get into the boot, but I think it’s possible that with some wear, it will soften enough so he can keep the bottom one buckled (less work to put on once it softens)

DH looks great in his new Jaimy boots! I saw them on the runway and was, to be honest, a bit sceptical, but they look really nice here. Now I'm trying to decide between these and the Hike Ankle boots for my skiing holiday later this year. On another note, I think it would be rather cute if you both were twinning with your boots!

The thicker crossbody strap and larger trapezoid shape feel more casual to me - especially if you pair it with a suit or otherwise dressier clothes. It sticks out further from the body and breaks the silhouette of the body line (IMHO) Regular Birkins/Kelly's have the handles which always look good formal or casual if you are carrying a bag by the handles at it sits below your waist when you hold it an naturally away from the body. I use a Kelly Depeches 25 or my smaller SAD 21 when I wear more formal dress. The narrow profile seems to look better against more tailored clothing especially if wearing the SAD 21 cross-body.

In truth I am dress casually far more often than formal so my KM gets a lot more use (and can hold a lot more) though I like the slim profile bags when wearing a more formal look and, sometimes if i need to carry a lot, I won't give a second thought about wearing the KM with a more formal look which is a long way of saying style is personal and you can rock a KM with any look :)

I totally agree with you. I have both - use the B35 for my day2day use - holds my laptop and everything I need and it also fits well on an airplane when i travel and have to put it under the seat. I use the B40 when I have a lot more to carry - doesn't really work for travel as it can only go in the overhead but wonderful for back & forth to the office when i have a lot to carry. As you note, the size difference is significant as is the weight especially in leather :) Thanks for sharing the photos! The boutique where I shop said they see very few B40's anymore - a handful per quarter - many more B35's thus easier to obtain.

When you stuff the b35 under the seat, any concerns of dirtying it? How do you keep the leather in good condition given we can’t wet wipe it? Thanks!
