The colour is just fabulous… deep grey green bleu…
The felt details are what makes it stand out…
I find the collar a bit to big… it might be due to the colour or the chopped head pic…
Price wise… I tought hermes men RTW was very competitively priced up till now… it seems starting this winter they have heavily marked up there garments and are somewhat more par to other high end - luxury RTW. This jacket is a perfect example of it IMO.

Thanks for letting us share our vieuw.
@steve.b , DH just told me that he contacted our SA to pass. He agrees with you re the pricing. It’s just not a price point he is comfortable paying for a single item. This jacket is also significantly more than a variety of men’s MTM outerwear DH ordered that is hopefully due to arrive in October.

At this price point, the stores ordered one per size; and I’m sure it is the perfect jacket for someone. But, I also think that there will be plenty of choice of leather jackets among premier brands at the end of the season. Perhaps not Hermes, but Loro P, Brunello etc

Re sizing: DH is actually a men’s 49 jacket. So this, though slightly dropped in the shoulder was a bit too slim for layering underneath. And, we’re reasonably sure that the 50 would be a bit too big all over. In case these observations help anyone else decide

@DILF , yes Hermes madison offers tailoring (same drill as Chanel; but here, men don’t have to wait as long :)

You are totally right… at these price point you are “close” to bespoke which in his turn is a totally other concept.
The style of this aviator jacket is not enough “special” as to accept to this price… quality of make for shure but not of design Inspo.

I am shure you will find one end of season for a very competitive price and he will feel good to wear it out.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

About 2 weeks ago, my SA sent me a 206 page-long catalog for men's wear for 2024 FW. I am particularly interested in the following 2 jackets (see below).

Question: I have never had jackets that actually contain the leather. So, I am wondering if these jackets are easy to take care of. I am also worried if the leather part of the jackets wear out ugly (or more beautifully?) as time passes by. Does anyone have wisdom?

PS. I have purchased several t-shirts from Hermes and I am not really a fan of these. They are not iron-free that I have to iron them every time, and the wrinkles give me a headache sometimes. So, if the jackets w/ leather requires high maintenance, I would like to know. Thank you!

ETA: Also, are they heavier when compared to those w/o leather (generally speaking)?

I have a jacket from fall 2022 that has leather patch pockets and trim around the cuffs and waist. Due to the leather, my dry cleaner will not clean it and, because it is cream, it gets dirty. I try to wipe down the leather regularly and, last summer, took it to NYC to have it cleaned but it is definitely high maintenance. I would NOT buy a cream wool and leather jacket again. Lesson learned! A darker color would be easier to keep clean (at least vis à vis visible dirt) though you’d still need to find a cleaner willing to work with both.

Thank you very much for sharing your experiences. This is what I exactly needed. I appreciate your help! :D

Sorry for the long post but I wanted to share the background story along with the photo!

I had one day to visit Singapore a couple weeks ago on my way to a scuba diving trip and visited the Hermes boutique at Liat Towers and the one at the takashimaya shopping center, and found this seahorse bag charm at the latter. I was so excited to find a scuba themed charm, although the entire shopping experience was very strange.

At the Liat Towers location, we asked about bag charms. My DH saw a blue rodeo that he really liked but I pointed out the “for display only” sign and we asked if they had others. The SA came out with a pink and brown rodeo that neither of us liked, prefacing it with “this is the only one we have right now.” At that point I showed her a photo on my phone of me with my Birkin and said it wouldn’t really go well but thanks anyway. After that she said oh you want a darker leather, hold on, and suddenly there was an additional one to show us, which we declined. At the shopping center, we were told they had no bag charms. The seahorse was on display so my DH asked for permission to take a photo of it. The SA said it was ok and then asked if we wanted it. I thought she was offering the display - but no, she went in the back and brought us a new one (from the empty stock of bag charms?). Anyway, I love the charm; I could do without all the games though. Also DH continues to remind me since then that SAs must like him more.
