Picked up my first Hermes bag over the holidays, a Kelly 35 Sellier in Bleu Atoll!!!

Took it out on its inaugural weekend trip around a friends wedding (semi formal attire).

Congrats!

I recall you were speaking it into existence in the Paris thread last year.
Which Paris store did you score it from? Tell us all about the adventure!! :drinks:

Thanks @FrenchNewbie!

Long story short, I haven’t gone to Paris yet - that’ll be in March! But I didn’t “love” the Kelly Depeche I was offered when I held it in person, so I ended up grabbing this from the pre-loved market. I don’t think it’s a color Hermes makes anymore, but it’s really unique and adds a pop of color into my otherwise neutral wardrobe.

As for trying my luck in Paris - still plan on going shopping - but most likely for the wife instead! She’s been looking for a smaller bag, so we’ll just have to test our luck and see if we get offered a mini Kelly perhaps? 🤩

FYI the men’s winter 2024 collection, live on Saturday, 20th January at 3pm (Paris time). Live streaming should be avail from the website.

How did you like it?

Love the leather pants and some of their wool peaces.

The show itself was quite disappointing though. And the camera angle. Almost no chance to see the bags in action :/

My favorite outfit is in the picture. Can totally see myself wearing it exactly like this.

Lol I agree with you that the show itself was not that great. It looked like a lack of direction or rehearsal or both. The cameraman didn’t event know when the last model was done and kept filming empty space. Then he didnt know where to film to catch the exiting models. Anyways, I digress…

On to the clothes….I love fall winter in general so I really liked the overall looks. Black leather trench coat, divine! I should mention that I am a girl but these last few seasons I have been drawn to a lot of menswear because of the color palette (lot more blacks, blue, gray choices) and cut/fit (come on not every girl likes crop tops and twillaines). And the bags ! oh I am drooling over the big large Birkin.

edit: the yellow sweater set you posted looks very on pointe! @justdennis84

Snooze fest. Nothing stood out. I am so over the hype of XL bags for men. Not asking they carry mini purses but pls stop shoving down our throats XL bags just to justify men have ball $ = big bags.

I mistakenly watched the video of SS24 mens yesterday while I was looking for the winter 2024 video and I thought they were very similar?! The clothes, the color palette, and the bags.

Véronique Nichanian needs to retire because seriously there's nothing new she offers to the table.

And they really need to hire a proper bag designer. When Pierre-Yves Labey was at Hermès we saw a lot of bag varieties on the runway. There were backpacks, fanny packs and clutches (that don't have the typical Hermès Kelly/Birkin and Sac a Depeches closures) alongside travel bags. Now it's just the same HAC and oversized Plume every season.

Saw on the Hermes website they are showing a plume 12h or similar with a shoulder strap. Haven’t asked our SA but has anyone ever gotten one them to add a strap on one side so it slips on your roller case? I like the bag but I travel so much I need a bag with that feature.

you could probably order it via Horizon, which will make it 3x the price so you might as well order it in a hard-to-find leather like box, barenia, or volynka.

It's a practical point and following on from @allanrvj 's post, it is one useful feature which DH requested and was incorporated into his own bespoke Horizon. The design team managed to propose a very clever solution but it did add to the final cost. Let us know what you think!
