Photos of my Kelly 40 Lakis as requested. I added a strap with a Kelly pocket- I decided when I got this bag (pre-loved 2005 model) that I was going to use it daily and not worry about scratches and wear and just enjoy the bag. The box leather is aging well and the marks have given it a lived-in look that I actual like and the fabric looks as good today as the day I got the bag. I baby some of my other pieces but this one goes back & forth with me to work everyday and it looks great- I have a 14.5” Samsung laptop which fits in - barely. That was a major driver when I replaced my old laptop earlier this year - whatever I bought had to fit into the Kelly 40
Fantastic bag. How does the structure of the bag go with the weight of the laptop?

I put my laptop in with the thicker side down all the way toward the back of the bag straight up and down - essentially fitting it snugly against the back of the bag flush with the zippered pocket in the back. My 16“ Samsung laptop (super thin) just fits in and it’m able to close the bag. like normal - albeit the singles are a tight fit. My old 15.5” laptop fit great - it wasn’t as tall as the 16 - I certainly can’t go any bigger.

love Lakis. is always my dream bag.

guys just to share experiecne of putting a laptop or using a birkin 35.

inside my bag:
one 13" laptop with sleeve, a hugh opitcal mouse, a coffee mug, two pouches (one for stationery, phone cable, batteries etc and one for some simple personal care products), a small foldable bag for grocery shopping. I do not close the flap so it looks as it is. It is functional but at the same time it's heavy (bear in mind that tolie is already lighter in weight), but I think it's a good everyday bag; I am switching it between my toolbox 34.

Guys could I have your opinion please: Do you prefer Chypre or Genius?

And to the Genius owners: Hermes shoes tend to be quit stiff at the moment. Is that the case with the rear strap too?
I’d probably want both haha! Now that I have the Chypres, the Geniuses are next on my list. I think that it would actually be more comfortable for me as the rear strap would keep my foot in place, whilst I notice that my heel tends to slip a little onto the inner corner of the sole, if that makes sense. I can see the wear on the sole where my heel rubs on it.

I have a pair of both. I am normally size 44 and the Chypres fit well. For the Genius, at size 44, the piece of velcro was too small so i had to size down in order to get the velcro strap to actually fit to my ankle.

Honestly, either is great. I got the genius first because I thought having a strap would be better then i wanted another color and all they had in stock was the Chypres - I tried those on and walked around the boutique for awhile and have since used them many times and my toes just naturally end up curling a bit to hold the sandals in place and I don't even notice the absence of the rear strap.
