So hows coach now?

I really like the Coach 1941 line; with the exception of the tea rose items (I have 2 Rogue 25’s, one Dinky, two pairs of shoes and three watch straps with them, so I’m clearly a fan) I like the less embellished items in the line and I appreciate both the quality and very discreet branding.

I have multiple Rogue, Dinky and Soho crossbody bags and am very happy with the leather and craftmanship on all of them. I really like the trifold wallets; I have multiples of both the full and half-sized versions.

I think Coach 1941 holds its own against other designer brands for quality and at a much more palatable price point. I don’t like their signature items, but I don’t like LV or Gucci signature prints either; I have a logo aversion. Most of the recently launched Coach items have been far too embellished or logo’d for my personal taste, but the pieces I have are staples and (I think) classic enough to wear for years.

Tea Roses may date but I love them too much to care what others think.

We are twins separated at birth and by an ocean i love tea roses too they are just so feminine and i agree with you on the classic unembellished ranges and 1941 quality

There are only two styles of Coach shoes that I have purchased: the Crosby Driver and the Pearl Foldable Ballet. I have wide feet (sadly) and am a size 8 1/2 wide. In the Crosby Drivers, I wear a full size up -- a 9 1/2! In the Pearl Foldable Ballet, I wear a 9. There definitely is variance in the sizing of Coach shoes. Interestingly, in the Lenox Loafers (which have a very thick, very heavy sole) I fit into an 8 1/2, as even in the size 9, the shoe was pulling off of my foot due to the heft of that particular shoe. I did not purchase those as I did not find them comfortable.

So, if your feet are wider, you will need to order Coach shoes in a half size to a full size up. (I think the Crosby Drivers are the odd exception, due to their place of manufacture.) In the Lenox loafers I tried on, I was also a size 9. I would imagine that for most Coach shoes, if you have regular width or narrow width feet, you will be fine if you stay true to size, at least most of the time you will. LOL.
thank you!

I came back to the Coach brand around 2014 when I saw the Swagger and Edie line and bought a Soft Swagger and an Edie 31. Before then, I hadn't purchased a coach piece in 15 years. Then the 1941 Collection came out and I immediately fell for it. I love the quality of the leather and bag construction. Wear and tear on my pieces have been minimal with 1941. So far, I own a Dinky 24, Rogue, two Rogue Satchels and a Tea Rose Clutch from the 1941 line. I used to own a Rogue 25 and a Dinky, but, both were too small for me. I own bags from a variety of fashion houses (Longchamp, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Brahmin, DVF, Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler and Fendi) and Coach 1941 bags are some of my favorite to rock. I absolutely love the new direction of Coach.

I only discovered coach late in 2016 but Edie and swagger were the first styles I bought i too love the 1941 stuff but nothing pre .2014 and Stuart vevers tempts me at all so I guess his.style brought me to coach and i.think he has had the rest of the world discover the brand for the first time certainly here in the UK

I bought the 65th Anniversary bags but left after that because Coach was getting too silly, cheap and gaudy - recently came back very late into the 1941 line and purchased a double swagger and a rouge satchel - I think these bags have great leather and are very well made - and classic looking and I will wear them for years.

Ha, too cool! Yeah, my YouTube channel allows me to gush about bags with other like minded folks. No one in my life enjoys bags as much as I do, so, the online community has been a great way to share my love of bags. tPF and YouTube are the best. Do you have a YouTube channel or Instagram account where you show your bags? I would love to see your collection!

I absolutely agree. The leather in the 1941 Collection is just divine. I so wish the would use the leather from Rogue bags to make wallets. I would grab up wallets and other SLGs made with that leather in a hot second!

Speaking of the leather used for the 1941 line, a friend of mine just came back from a trip to Paris and treated herself to a Longchamp 3D hobo. I've always admired the 3D from afar, but never got around to checking it out in person. That bag is almost the exact price point of a Rogue and it pales in comparison. The leather was thin and cheap, almost plastic feeling. Just overall not impressive, I was really disappointed- but I kept it to myself.

I just ordered my first two Coach bags ever! I’ve been eyeing on them for a while and it was a though competion between them and Furlas mini Metropolis and Julia series.

I have tried both on previously and I do really like the feel of Coaches leathers. But considering it’s an contemporary brand with a made in Asia stamp, Coach is quite expensive here in the nordics with both of these bags retailing at 299 euros (~ 350 dollars). What tipped the scales in favor on these was that they were both on sale for 149 euros (~179 dollars).

Here’s to hoping for a quick delivery!

Sorry for my late reply. Their shoes are true to size. If you wear a EU size 38, applies the same for Coach. If you are somewhere in between always get the half size larger.

Another asia. here who is reeeeeeally glad to hear this. I always want a coach shoes, but did not dare to buy online! So how is the sizing compared to Tory Burch or Ferragamo?

I love your videos on YT and follow you on IG too! I think you are awesome! I have been buying Coach since the early 1990s but took a long hiatus because I didn't have the $ and then I didn't really enjoy the product coming out. In the last 2-3 years I have purchased a lot of bags, mostly deletes at the outlet or through sales at the boutique. I am definitely turning into a 1941 snob. I love the quality. I am a little down on Coach at the moment because of some careless actions by the repairs department. I am currently taking a break but I am still enjoying TPF!

This question, “How is Coach Now” too broad. Are we comparing quality, style, brand essence, selection, etc?? “Now” compared to when? Are we talking bags only or including all accessories and clothing?

My mother bought Coach in the ‘70’s and I bought in the ‘80’s when they were made in New York. I still have a clutch that was made in Italy. They only made bags back then, no clothing. I’m only commenting on the bags:

Style selection wise Coach is superior today. In the 70’s there were very few styles and all looked the same. Leather quality back then was fabulous. Leather as thick as a saddle and indestructible.

As far as quality goes... that depends. The made for outlet stuff is total c**p. Fake leather junk. Shockingly bad. It’s like a different brand.

The retail stuff was getting really junky too but I think the past 2 years they did a turn around and improved the quality. Prices have risen accordingly which they’d have to. I like the 1941 series featuring improved versions of classic styles. These are closest to the ones we’d buy back in the 70’s and 80’s. However the leather today is much thinner than the old bags. Maybe that’s a good thing as the bags are lighter now. Old ones can be heavy.
