@A1aGypsy , agree with @Pollie-Jean :)

Speaking in general, not simply to this thread. TPF is not an echo chamber; it’s a public forum; everyone is entitled to an opinion. (Mine was that, based on my observation of OP’s pics, going up in size didn’t create a different silhouette (which is what I think OP wanted)

I have been looking for certain leg styles of jeans in my size and they were sold out, and I couldn’t size down.
I had the idea that if I size up certain jeans and wore a belt so they fit my waist properly, I could create the appearance of jeans looking like another leg style. I don’t know if anybody has tried to do this, but here are the results. Let me know if you think they look good or I should return the two pairs of jeans.

Gap high rise true skinny jeans.
Sizing up I tried to have them look like a thin bootcut.

I'm not sure what your goal is but if you're looking for jeans that are tight through the thigh but not so tight at the ankle, you may want to check out Levis 724

I got a pair of levis that fit nicely. I wanted some in a different wash but the fit was totally different. I tried a few pair and had to send them all back.
Yes. Like I said, to me jeans are one of the most difficult items for me to buy. Most are unforgiving in certain areas if you know what I mean.

yes, I've spent lots of time in fitting rooms trying on jeans....probably my favorite pair are J Brand, which is discontinued. I have my eye on a pair in the same style - different wash - on Poshmark. the measurements look good but you don't really know until you try on.

No you don't. You have to see how they feel and look in the mirror. Numbers mean nothing. Brands sometimes mean nothing. It is hard work finding jeans.

I made one mistake. I saw a pair of J Brand on Mercari. she didn't have the style name. the price was low so I took a chance. Mistake. they fit but the rise is lower than I like so I hardly ever wear them.

Yes. The rise and even the bottom opening. Combine that with whether you will be wearing them with heels, flats, or boots. Difficult is is!

@limom Fair enough, but you were pretty judgemental on me for someone who isn’t confident enough to even show your own outfits on here so I can analyze your style back. I used to wear Levi’s 501 but the material is too rough now I don’t care for it anymore they got cheaper in quality.
Here is what my belt looked like a few years ago when it was new and styled better. I loved skinny jeans and this makes me want to go back to them eventually.
