Yes! They scratch... Right now my bracelet is so heavy I am thinking of undoing the solder charms by having them removed and buying the clasp link bracelet instead to be able to freely move charms around and use my holiday ones also in a bracelet not just as pendant... Decisions decisions!

The clasp link bracelet is what I am looking to possibly purchase. I almost purchased it a few months ago, but I kept going back and forth about the idea of wearing my charms on a bracelet.

Right now most of my charms from Tiffany are enamel. I love the way all of the enamel colors look together, but I would hate to see them damaged. I would probably not wear the bracelet that often and I would also only put a few charms on at a time (which is why I love the flexibility of the Tiffany's clasp link). I would hope this would reduce the damage, but I am one of those people who likes things in pristine condition and I am afraid if the charms get scratched it will drive me nuts! :p

As you say, decisions, decisions!

Your bracelet is beautiful good choice in charms!

Thank you.

I hardly wear mine. I lost the RRT heart lock and had to get a new one. The locks need to be sauddered on or else they open I found :( My SA gave me the large jump ring to attach to a few and that seems secure. I also found small rings at the craft store that are sterling silver and they look like a teenie tiny key ring. I like to be able to remove them but also have them secure. The scratches bother the heck out of me though lol

For me, it's going to be the Tiffany & Co. silver bead bracelet (and maybe the large oval key, if my wallet is feeling lovey that day ) How about you?

Edit: OOPS! I was going to start a new thread, but added on this one by accident :shame:

Sorry!

FINALLY scored a nice RTT round tag bracelet! I have a couple of charms that I would like to get soldered on. However, I want the London cab one badly, but I am worried about the enamel. If I were to get the charm put on but without any charms near it, would that work? It is a tough decision; I love the blue!

I have the clasp link bracelet and my charms can't fall off if you put it on a certain way it makes it so you'd have to take the bracelet chain apart before the charm would come off iyswim

It may eventually still chip just because it would still be hitting other surfaces with daily wear. Tiffany is excellent with customer service where enamel is coming off though..

Yeah that's what the nice lady at Tiffany's show me how I do...

I hear you. I spoke to one SA, she said they will repair or replace up to a year or two; and then when I picked up the cab today, and I asked about the potential of chipping, she merely said yes it might.
I am going to wear it on a chain for awhile, but I know that eventually I am going to put it on my bracelet... It is so naked without any charms! I wonder if there is a way to protect it with a clear coat of some sort...

I've heard of people putting on clear nail polish as an additional coat, but I personally wouldn't - when the nail polish comes off, it may flake off in larger pieces, rather than like bit by bit and that pull might encourage the bottom layers to loosen/come off.

Wish I had some better suggestions for you.. :shame:

as i like both types of charm bracelet i have the heart tag bracelet but wont be adding any charms
and i have the link clasp bracelet for the charms , i like that you can fill the bracelet and if you decided you didnt like a charm anymore or wanted a change you can just take the charms on and off easily. soldering them on is more permanent and secure. but the link clasp is secure enough. it would have to fall off your wrist before the charm would come out and the likelyness of that is not high . i wear mine alot and its really tight fitting (i need more links or to lose weight) and have never had it come undone.
i'd recommend either style they are both great choices. sometimes i prefer the shap and style of the heart tag bracelet and other times the link bracelet or both together. both are great pieces. IF you can try on both do :smile1:

I know it really bothers me, I would love to buy a few of the enamel charms for my bracelet but I'm scared of the chipping looking bad
I only have two charms on my bracelet so far, I would definitely buy the enamel charms right away if I knew they'd last they're so cute.
Do tiffany repair chipped enamel? How long does it last? Does it take much to chip it?
They charge alot for the charms so I expect them to last or at least for tiffany to repair enamel every so often
