hey John! i, like Ashley think you should look at Marc by Marc Jacobs. would you be willing to look on eBay for new bags? if you have time/patience you can find some really great brands. however, if you want something now than i like the Etsy cause it's color is beautiful. the Kate Spade one is nice as well, i think their quality is pretty good. i dislike the Hype bag, however. let us know what you choose!

Hmm...the occasion is the 18th of this month, so that may be a little tight to hold out for a deal on the Marc Jacob bags. I am okay with getting this off eBay since (I'm guessing) this item isn't going to have too many issues with counterfeits. I don't see any leather purple Marc Jacobs <$400 right now on eBay unfortunately. I do like the suggestion so I'll keep my eyes out for one for the next few days at least.

OK, the Hype one is out then. I also like the color on the Etsy one. That is one of the main things that drew me to it, and the reviews for this seller are very high. Do you think that the purse is a little too plain? I'm on the fence about whether I like its simplicity or I think it looks a little unfinished for lack of a better word.

wait, which bag would you be getting off eBay? the Kate Spade one? it probably isn't counterfeit, but you might want to check the user's ratings or score just in case. i'll be on the lookout for any purple MJs on eBay for you. the Etsy one is beautiful, i think. it isn't too plain, any more hardware would distract from the color itself

Oh sorry, I meant I was looking for the MJ one on eBay. The Kate Spade one is already so discounted I would rather just be 100% sure and buy it from the actual website. Hm, ok. I think my plan now is to look around for the MJ for the next week and if not then go with the Etsy one. I think she would prefer the Etsy to the Kate Spade.

Wow! You're fast and good at this. I missed that first eBay one since I put 'purple' in the search phrase so didn't get eggplant. I think of those she would prefer the Bow Wow Wow. I'll have to think it over and maybe try to subtly get her opinion. Thanks a ton.

:p i love MJ, so i constantly search eBay for things. good luck on your search! i do think she'd like the Bow Wow Wow, it's a bit hobo-y like the ones you posted earlier. let us know what you get!

This was my Mulberry Rouge Noir Bayswater.

I say "was" because it had to go back to Mulberry for repairs - unfortunately it couldn't be repaired and they gave me a credit for the purchase price of the bag. Depending on how the light hit the bag, it could look anything from plum through to a deep royal purple to almost black. It was really beautiful and I really miss having it in my collection.

This purple/lavender degrade patent Prada is my absolutely favorite bag... it goes with everything except for red/orange, and although the picture doesn't do it justice, the color is just amazing.

I have a serious addiction to purple/plum colored bags:shame: I have a two-tone Patent Gucci Hysteria, a Plum Mulberry Alexa, a Wink exclusive Violet F&C City, and a purple Marc Jacobs Stardust large Cecelia on the way. I've parted with a few purple bags as they come and go to replace but these are my current lovies.
