Ah, yes, uniform kilts rolled up to make an odd sort of miniskirt. I totally forgot about that! I always hated having longer limbs since the rule was that the skirt had to be longer than your fingertips when your arms were at your side. Well, at least when adults were looking anyway.

Love the new bag!
Thank you! I think we went to the same school lol

Yep, 1982-84  An odd look with a fisherman sweater and a uniform kilt (with waistband rolled up to make a
bizarre mini) but there you have the 1980’s in a nutshell lol

Here’s my newest one from heimat Atlantica

So cute thanks for sharing it! I should probably be at straw bag purse peace, as I now have 3, but I keep thinking I want one that has a lot of black in it or something, like this one.

Not my bag (sob) but I stopped into Ferragamo today to ogle the scarves and fell in love with this: https://www.ferragamo.com/shop/us/en/women/handbags/top-handles-satchels/b-raffia-s-763946

The anthracite is the one I love, in case that’s not the color that comes up. The SA helpfully showed me that the leather insert AND the leather pouch can come out. So thoughtfully designed!

And 2300 euros for a raffia bag! That doesn’t have a shoulder strap, which I was fixating on today for reasons. So pretty, though.

Very pretty color, no wonder you fell in love. I agree with you about that high price.

The prospect of wicker breakage has always made me too nervous to splurge on a wicker bag from, say, Hermes or Chanel, whereas this little number from Zara causes no such fear and is super fun to wear. I may remove the orca, though - bag charms aren’t for me

Love the shape of your bag, and I adore the orca! But if bag charms aren't for you, they just aren't.

Super love the black and tan combo and was eyeing the other version they have. If you don't mind confirming, I am wondering if the top of the bag is flush and level where the 2 sides meet the front and back pieces.

Thanks. Somewhat level in this medium sized bag, but where the sides are joined to the front and back,
it’s a bit bumpy.. I also would have preferred this bag if it were a tiny bit smaller. (Pic1)

My larger tote is constructed in the same way, but it feels like it can carry significantly more weight.
There is a bit of a dip along the sides (front and back are a bit taller) I use it for notebooks and iPad. (Pic 2).

I don’t mind the bumpiness and irregularity bc of the homespun nature of these bags.
I used HA dust bags to line the bags.

Also, a group shot so you get a sense of scale. (Pic 3).

ETA: just realized that I didn’t post action shots of the larger tote
Not the best pic but you can see how the slightly lower sides attach to the front and back

I love this Ferragamo as well and like you just don’t think I could spend that on this material ever, even if I was stupid rich.

The first time I ever saw this bag, it was offered in this electric blue color… so stunning.

Ooh awesome! Thanks for all the photos and your feedback which is really helpful. :ty: The large tote looks amazing in the mod shot. Nice to know that you feel the larger tote can carry more weight. Important, that!

I will need to figure out if I can live with the bumpy handmade nature. It's why I got the La Falaise which has the leather trimmed top and bottom to give it a clean look haha.
