It's exactly the right place to ask.

As a fellow lover of brown I have noticed there are not that many brown bags of any model at H ATM. Etoupe and Gold (and the 'special' leathers Fauve Barenia, P Porc etc) being the closest, occasionally there are some men's brown bags. The days when almost every lady had a black and a brown bag are truly gone. It's just fashion. My last brown bag (Chocolate Swift) is from 2008, a Web Bolide was really made for a man in mind.

Like the dark blues and beiges, I think browns will make a fashionable return but until then consider going the pre-loved route. Brown is often the most cost-effective colour of them all (lucky us). If you really want to go new you could ask your SA to ask head of bags to order you one (PO) or even a SO. Your first task is to simply ask, because you are asking for a Plume I think your request will be met with interest.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply, papertiger. =)

It hadn’t occurred to me that brown just wasn’t a fashionable color at the moment. I definitely consider it a wardrobe staple but maybe that idea’s passé. =(

Next time I’m in my local boutique I’ll ask and hope one comes along eventually. Leather just looks so exceptionally rich in brown!

I'm another super fan of brown, always have been. I'm also looking for a brown preowned Plume , hopefully in Boxcalf.

Goodness, I'm glad I already bought mine. I'm beginning to think it's more than a micro trend, get one quick everybody.

There are a couple of brown Plumes on Collector's Sq. One is Gold but the condition... er needs more than a spa. I think there's also a brown with orange piping too.

Brown is coming back. Specially the kind of chocolate brown shade that has been completely ‘out’ for years. It is already back on the runways and will trickle down to everything else.

In the meantime, dark brown still means a (often significant) cut in prize for bags in the preloved market. Couple this with the fact that choco brown was the new black in the 90s (I believe the expression was invented for it), and so there are plenty of bags this color up to the early 00s. This is great for lovers of both chocolate and bags like myself who would never be caught dead in anything etoupe. It won’t be for long though...
