Great pic, I just love this bag. Will you use it more in the Summer do you think?
IMO a Plume can take more interesting variations than any other H bag and still look elegant. I will look out for any more unusual ones in the future though.
I'm in New England. So you are right, most likely she will be my summer bag.
I tried on 28 but 32 looks better on me.
Would like to learn more about the design. It's so pleasing to my eyes! Even in the simple colors.Hope we will have Ode de Plume one day:D

Hmm interesting question! I love the understated style of the plume to be honest and nobody would recognize it - and I love the bolide as well though it gets slouchy and soft (which isn't a bad thing) but I tend to like structured a bit more perhaps? That said I don't have a bolide at the moment but I do have and love, an LV alma (in quetsche!) - does that help?? I doubt it lol! Also if you are looking for pre-loved - a plume is probably less expensive which is always a plus!

You have answered my question perfectly. :smile1:

For some reason, I have been umming and ahhing over a Birkin/HAC for many years, but I have never caved in when the opportunity arised. For me, 30 is too small, 35 is too big, HAC 32 has short handles, however, the interest is still there because of the hype. I don't really do "open" bags though, or slouchy bags. I prefer structure.

But I have been interested in Plumes and Bolides of late. A few years ago, Fashionphile was selling a 27cm Bolide for under $1,000 and I regrettably backtracked during the sale, because I thought it was a fake because the price was too low. I should have gone through with the purchase because now I know their reputation precedes them.

Now I am considering a Plume 32. The colour, leather and hardware is yet to be decided. I am still thinking about the idea of a Plume though...

Oooh well I think a plume 32 would be quite perfect then!! And those seem a bit easier to find because they are a bit bigger - I think a 27 bolide would have been too small if you like a larger bag;) - good luck!

Wow. What am I looking at here - boxcalf? It's gorgeous.

What leather and color is your beauty? It is absolutely gorgeous!!!

Sorry -- somehow I missed the questions! I bought the bag pre-loved, so I have no idea what the leather is, nor the color.

The leather is a smooth leather like box, but doesn't show scratches and appears to imprinted. But the imprint is not raised, so it is as smooth as can be. Maybe it is epsom, but It doesn't look like or feel like the other epsom I have because of the smoothness. Any ideas?

could be gulliver or swift

I'm pretty sure - considering the white stitching and year - that sbelle's is Chamonix.
H did a lot of Plumes in that leather at the time. Just like this Plume in editorial. (Check out the price at the time, BTW.)

BTW, I really havent participated much in this thread, even tho I have 3 Plumes bc 2 of them are still at Spa and I wanted to do a family portrait. Hope to post when I get them back.

They must have done because a pre-loved Chamonix found it's way to me a while ago as well, LOL! Based on the gorgeous pics on this thread, it would seem that a Plume elan needs to get on my radar, :graucho:. I wonder though, are the elan straps more easily worn over the shoulder than the regular Plume straps or is the elan really a hand-carried bag as well?

Lovely picture, I think you may be right

I can't wait for your family portrait, but I know it'll be worth waiting for

That's also TDF!!! (and the LAdV shawl)

If my memory serves me correctly they're the same length, it's just the proportions of the elan make them look longer.

I like the original boxy shape

The élan straps are too short for over the shoulder so it needs to be hand carried. I do like the look of the élan as it's quite elegant actually.

Looove these!

I cannot find the pic, but you will know the one I mean: the plume on the handles on the bike from an Hermes ad a few years ago....what colour was that one? (it's like a golden colour)

Love this thread! Very enabling!
