Conflicting reports. I do remember a while ago an SA telling me that the Plume was very tricky because it's not double leather (hence the lightness) and made by hand inside-out and all at once except for the handles, Apparently a lot can go wrong :shrugs:

I know it's a very old style. Do you remember those cabinets at Leather Forever. An old Depeche, a Web/bolide and a Plume (still in a larger size). Then further on the two Plumes from the 1960/70s. (Hermes introduced the updated and 'shrunk' Plume as handbag size in the '60s as a special order for Catherine Deneuve). They impressed so much. I just thought they were so elegant.

Yes I do remember it. Loved the plume at first sight. There is definitely a lot of skill in their simplicity, I ve got an article from hermes magazine about how they are made and turned around. At the exhibition they were demonstrating the making of Kellys and Constances, I think they made one of each every 2-3 days. Maybe I misunderstood what they were saying, but vaguely remember the rhapsody on kelly handles. My beloved husband has wanted to get me one ever since,:D but I secretly preferred the plume. It is MUCH easier to carry. I use it as a work tote and can go out for tea still looking good.
