The plume is my favorite hermes bag . If anyone is interrest in the story of this bag . The bag was made to put a blanket in it foe travelling . What is explain is rectangular shape . Its also the most difficult bag hermes made . It took around 55 60 hours to make a plume .
An eternal classic ♡

Very interesting fact!! I always wonder why plume is pricey considering how simple the bag looks like. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️👍

Another plume -- from 2003. It's one of those bags that I will never let go of.

My new to me plume elan in raisin arrived yesterday and is a beauty! Tried to take quick pics this morn but not good light - will do soon I promise! Along with my rouge Vif plume....I will be using the elan to replace a clutch I wasn't using (LV) - similar size but easier to carry for me since I don't appear to be much of a clutch girl! Love paring down and having only items that are perfect for me!

I don't think its the most difficult bag to make. (That's the Constance & the kelly, thAts what they said that the hermes exhibition.) but the plume is handmade and there is a lot of skill involved. The simplicity is deceptive.

Conflicting reports. I do remember a while ago an SA telling me that the Plume was very tricky because it's not double leather (hence the lightness) and made by hand inside-out and all at once except for the handles, Apparently a lot can go wrong :shrugs:

I know it's a very old style. Do you remember those cabinets at Leather Forever. An old Depeche, a Web/bolide and a Plume (still in a larger size). Then further on the two Plumes from the 1960/70s. (Hermes introduced the updated and 'shrunk' Plume as handbag size in the '60s as a special order for Catherine Deneuve). They impressed so much. I just thought they were so elegant.
