yes
bring Lindy, GP is heavy and sits too high on the shoulder for all day comfort
if you're worried about dirt, bring Lexol wipes in packs and clean your bag at end of day. Gold cleans up well
bags are meant to be used and enjoyed, my bags have been to 57 countries cumulatively

As everyone says, it all depends on how you travel and what you intend to do. In some instances I stay in top hotels, I know I am in uber city centres and lots of shopping and restaurants - that's when I bring my good bags, and jewelry. If I travel and I'm doing a lot more site seeing, traveling, exploring - I keep it simple and leave all my designer items at home. All because I love to be hassle free, and it's no longer about what I'm wearing, but the experience.

If you're concerned and feel you will be paranoid about everyone that bumps your bags, or the humidity of the city, or your clammy hands touching your bags, then I would say leave your bags at home. Purchase a cute crossbody bag that may also double as a clutch, and voila, you have a bag for day and night that will also allow you to stop thinking about what your'e wearing and more about the experience.

Bring your Lindy....I hv a Lindy 26 and I bring it to work on a daily basis and I also use it when I travel. Oh, by the way, I live in Singapore which has a hotter and humid temperature than Japan and Taiwan. I will use the bag come rain or shine. Enjoy, Asia [emoji2].

Lindy is way better than GP in terms of weight. you be very happy with the hands free option the lindy provides. bring essentials in a separate foldable bag if need be. I learned that for me, carrying a small bag with my valuables (wallet - cash, CCs, phone, pocket wifi) is the best. Other essentials like water, tissues, etc can go into a foldable tote or backpack.

I also always pack a zipped RuMe tote (sometimes 2). I also always put my H bags inside a zipped foldable tote on the xray & plane floor. HTH.

Happy travels!!!! you'll be so full from the food in taiwan & japan!

Thank you for starting this thread!
I will also be traveling to Asia (Shanghai and HK), and I was contemplating if I should bring my Lindy along as it’s swift and in Rose Sakura color. I keep going back and forth not certain what one H bag I should bring with me. I find the Lindy 26 will be most useful as it has a shoulder strap, and can carry quite a lot. The two side pockets are also very convenient. But the light color concerns me. If I had another darker color size 26 Lindy, then the decision would be easier.

I'm heading to Taiwan next week in the middle of typhoon season. I am also trying to figure out what to wear. Id love to take photos of my Hermes in action but concerned about all the rain. I'm thinking Clic 16 (I bring it on every trip because it's so compact but fits my passport) and another bag. Any suggestions?

I spent 4 months in Asia during typhoon season. I brought my clemence Lindy 26, no issues with the rain to be honest. I just made sure I had a waterproof Eco bag with me. I'd say bring any bag you usually use for travelling.

Absolutely. Wipe off puddles. Air dry. My travel bags are pebbled leather or felt TPM which is hardier than many leathers.

Try to avoid long term storage in such climates, but if that’s necessary, keep out of direct sunlight; make sure there is ventilation/ air flow.

When I am in Asia, I store nothing in plastic, eschew boxes and dust bags (I want to see the stuff).

I also stay in a temp controlled environment. No drastic swings in temp or humidity which is particularly bad for patent leather or suede

I spent three weeks this month across Korea (rainy and humid), Singapore (very humid), Tokyo (hot), Shanghai (hot and humid) and brought a mini garden party in a darker color (full leather) and mini plume in chèvre and rose sakura and they both held up even though the hotel rooms definitely smelled musty from moisture (high end hotels too eg four seasons / park Hyatt). Even my clothes felt not great but I think the key was I always had my bags out on the tables and in the aircon whereas my clothing was always in mixed states of packed which probably trapped more humidity than I intended (lesson learned). The only thing I felt was the handle of my garden party felt sticky after a long day but it’s largely gone away. Don’t worry too much about using your bags as long as you aren’t leaving them in your luggage for days on end and your bags aren’t just being drenched in rain endlessly. Little splashes totally fine!

I bring my H bags for travel all the time and go to Singapore once a year and Taiwan every few years. Unless you bring box leather the weather (rain) is not an issue and agree that swift is much sturdier than you think

The only two things to be careful about:
- sunscreen on your hands (if not washed off) can harm the glazing, especially in combination with the hot weather
- if stored without using for too long (I'd say weeks) in a room without constant A/C leather can get moldy in Taiwan, but that would only apply to AirBnBs and private homes, not hotel rooms
